Glenys Vidal – USA

2019-2020 Brand Ambassador

“Hello G45ers, my name is Glenys Vidal (aka Craft Room Secrets) and I am extremely happy to be here again with you all for another year of fun papercrafting! I live in Florida and am a mother of two daughters and a dog mom to my only boy Brownie. I love all types of crafting, and almost always have at least two or three different projects going on at the same time. I craft mostly every day as a way of distressing. I especially like making travel mini-albums and holiday projects. I have been a fan of Graphic 45 for a long time now, and my favorite collection is Halloween in Wonderland which is followed closely by Nutcracker Sweet. My first Graphic 45 project was actually a travel mini album using the Trasantlantique collection. After doing that project, I got absolutely hooked on Graphic 45!

DIY Chipboard Mini Album

By Glenys Vidal

For my introductory post for this year as Brand Ambassador, I wanted to share with you all two different projects using the new Bloom collection, including one that can be used as home decor.

For my first project, I created a mini album that was inspired by the floral images of the collection. If you know me, you will know that I love florals and I tend to use them in most of my projects. So there is no surprise that I am in love with the Bloom collection.

The moment that I saw this collection, I knew I wanted to create a vintage-inspired album. I started by using black chipboard to create a frame for the beautiful florals from the collection.

I use dark colors as a base to accentuate the beautiful floral papers. I wanted them to be the focal point.

Using a combination of foam tape and chipboard I created different layers with the fuzzy cut flowers. To further add dimension I used real moss and branches from my garden to add a natural touch. Even though I used mostly black and gold as a base, the album has a joyful feel.

For the inside pages, I wanted to do something different so I used only one combination of the papers from the collection. Of course, I used my favorites: the mulberry and green paper combo.

Here are some of my favorite pages:

I loved this mini album so much that I created the second project inspired by it. A dimensional layout and frame to decorate the wall of my craft room.

DIY Chipboard Frame & Layout

By Glenys Vidal

For this project, I just used papers from the collection and black chipboard to create a frame.

I started by creating a shadow frame using black chipboard. The outside frame measures 6 ½ x 8 ½ inches and the layout page 6 x 8 inches.

G45 Tip: Use the new Graphic 45 black chipboard sheets as base for your projects.

I fuzzy cut flowers from the collection, and then used different mixed media products (black gesso, wax, texture paste, stencil) to achieve the final result.

I placed foam tape and leftover chipboard pieces under my images to create layers and texture.

I loved how fast and easy it was to make this project! I especially love how well it matches my craft room decor.

I am very excited to be part of the Graphic 45 team for another year and feel humble to be part of such an amazing team. Thank you Graphic 45 for creating so many wonderful products and for trusting me again to represent the brand. I look forward to seeing you all soon with lots of new projects.”
