#G45Box – Life’s a Journey Storage Box/Desk Organizer

By Tanya Scrap

“Hello dear G45ers!

Happy to share with you my project for the #G45Box challenge this month featuring the beautiful Life's a Journey collection! I have altered a simple and easy wooden storage box starring the fabulous black and white pattern papers in this collection. I will use this box to store most of my G45 supplies and loose staples.

Herewith the Supplies and Instructions you may use to recreate such a project:

Graphic 45 Supply List:

Life's a Journey 12x12 Collection Pack

Life's a Journey 12x12 Patterns & Solids Pad

Antique Brass Claw Feet

Antique Brass Door Pulls

Black 12x12 Chipboard Sheets (10 pack)

Life's a Journey Collection 12×12 Paper Pad

Life's a Journey Collection 12×12 Patterns and Solids Paper Pad

Antique Brass Claw Feet

Antique Brass Door Pulls

Black 12×12 Chipboard Sheets

Other Supplies used:

Wooden Storage Box (Mail Organizer with drawer)

White Chalk Paint

This was originally a 'mail organizer' box and it measures 26 cm x 14 cm x 21 cm. Paint the box

randomly with some white chalk paint giving it a shabby chic look.

Tip: When choosing a box to alter, make sure to get one with a drawer. Use the drawer as extra storage for all those loose G45 metal embellishments.

I was not fond of the shape of the top section of the box and thus decided to cut a different shape from the G45 black chipboard as shown in the picture below. I used a border rectangle cutting die (optional) to trace the shape of the corners.

Trace the shape of the sides of the box onto the pattern sheets with a pencil, cut and glue onto

the box.

Remove the handle from the drawer. Mat the wood dividers that slide in and out as well as the drawer with the pattern sheets.

Line the inside of the drawer with some G45 black chipboard.

The claw feet and door pulls add a nice touch to the box.

Perfect storage, keeping all your favourite G45 supplies close at hand.

The drawer comes in pretty handy for all those loose metal embellishments.

Tip: Remember to keep your G45 packaging. These are awesome for use on projects. I also usually ink on them or mix paint/texture pastes, great to use and then just throw away afterwards.

Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Papercrafting!”
