Lost in Paradise Folio Tutorial – #G45Technique

By Glenys Vidal

“Hello G45ers, I am so happy to be here again to share a project with you all: a super fun folio using the Lost in Paradise collection. After receiving requests for a tutorial from the Sunkissed Summer folio I shared last month on my blog, I decided to make another one, and this time record a full tutorial to share with you all.

As soon as I saw the Lost in Paradise collection I knew I wanted to make a project where I could store photos from my home state of Florida. This collection is so vibrant and the images of plants, flowers, and birds are just stunning, and might I add, very Floridian.

Folios are so easy to create, and so easily customizable. I also love that they are easy to store in my craft room, and they can hold tons of photos. I usually create them in different sizes, fitting to the needs of the project, and then customize them with interactive pages so that every folio has a completely unique feel.

As a base for my folios, I use cereal boxes, but you can use any of the variety of different materials at your disposal to make yours: chipboard, packaging, and even office folders. To create the flaps, inserts, and pockets, I use regular cardstock.

First I want to share a few photos of the completed folio so you see the final outcome of mixing custom folios with beautiful Graphic 45 papers. At the end of this post, I also included a full tutorial video with the step by step process of how to create this project. In the video I also share some other folios I have completed, so you can see different versions and some even with pictures included on them so you can see the final result.

For the cover, I always like to keep it simple, as I like to store the folios standing up in a basket. For this folio, I just used papers from the collection and decorated with some fussy cut images.

Each folio that I have made is different. I like to customize them with different flaps, pockets, and inserts.

The pockets are perfect to hold photos and ephemera cards to document your stories.

But they are perfect to especially hold my favorite decor item, the Graphic 45 tags.

Here are some more pictures of the inside pages:

I love how vibrant the colors of this collection are. They are going to be perfect for my Florida pictures.

When you see the completed project it’s hard to believe it came from just a cereal box. As promised, here are all the measurements for the inside pages and below is the video tutorial. This is the first time I film a tutorial, so I hope you all like it. If you would like more tutorial videos, just let me know!
