Hello, G45ers!

Commemorate your Summer fun with a shabby chic Beach Album with this step by step tutorial by Tanya Cloete.  Tanya has used our Sun Kissed paper collection, Regular Tag Album, and Metal Dies to create this picture perfect scrapbook album for this #SimplyG45 feature.

#SimplyG45  - Beach Tag Album

By Tanya Cloete

Hello dear G45ers! Happy to share with you another #SimplyG45 project for this month, a cute Beach Tag Album featuring the fabulous Sun Kissed Collection!

I just adore any beach/sea themed projects. This collection is one of my favorites! Love all the pretty patterns and elements and especially the ephemera cards and chipboard pieces. They are pretty neat and make great embellishments!

I have used cutting dies to make this project as well as the amazing matching Graphic 45 Tag dies. I love matting, and can you just imagine my delight when these were released! The tags look so pretty with that border around the matted piece.

Herewith the Supplies and Instructions you may use to recreate such a project:

Sun Kissed 12x12 Collection Pack

Regular Tag Album—Ivory

Regular Tag & Gears Dies

Graphic 45 Supplies used:

Other Supplies:

  • Spellbinders Die Sea Animals
  • Spellbinders Die Seashells
  • Amy Design Die African Border
  • Flower Die
  • Making Memories Ribbon Punch Tool
  • String
  • Sequins
  • Adhesive Foam Squares

Step 1:

Cut 2 tags from the patterns sheets and ephemera cards for the back and front for 5 of the ivory tags using the matching regular tag die.

Step 2:

Cutting tags from the ephemera cards.

Tip: Use masking tape to keep tag in place when cutting over an image thus making sure the die doesn't move when putting it through your machine.

Step 3:

Cut a few die cut shapes using the dies mentioned.

Tip: Using one or two of the tags from the album, cut the border and sea shapes. This will make them stand out or 'pop' when adhering all the elements.

Step 4:

Cut strips from the pattern sheets for the ephemera cards. Punch a slot in the corner of each using the ribbon punch tool. Cut the strip in half, pull through slot, fold, and glue.

Tip: Easy to slide the card in and out of the border pocket on the tag.

Step 5:

Cut the strips with wording from the pattern sheets. Adhere the strip to the border pocket and add these to

the pattern tag before adhering to the ivory tag.

Step 6:

Adhere the die cut elements and chipboard pieces with adhesive foam squares.

Tip: Adhering these with adhesive foam will give the elements more dimension.

Step 7:

Add sequins to the center of each flower.

Tip: It just looks pretty and it will give it that extra bling.

Step 8:

The back of the tags have not been decorated, thus you can add a photo or use it for journaling.

Step 9:

Cut two small tag elements from the pattern sheets. Add string and make a bow.

Tip: Add string to some of the other elements too for that finishing touch.
