#G45Stamp Steampunk Debutante and Imagine Card

By Tanya Cloete

Hello, dear G45ers! Happy to share with you my #G45Stamp project for this month featuring a combination of the gorgeous Steampunk Debutante and Imagine Collections. I have created an A5 size card with the beautiful pattern sheets from Steampunk Debutante and the lovely stamps from Imagine. These papers and stamps are a perfect match.

Herewith the Supplies and Instructions you may use to recreate such a project:

Graphic 45 Supplies:

Steampunk Debutante—Deluxe Collector's Edition

Dream—Clear Acrylic Stamps

Square Tag & Clock Dies

Large Tag, ATC Tag and Flower Dies

Rose Bouquet Collection—Classic Ivory & Natural Linen

Clearsnap Decades Dye Pad Rustic Orange

Clearsnap Decades Dye Pad Velvet Teal

Clearsnap Decades Dye Pad Venetian Lace

Other Supplies:

  • Various Dies
  • White Cardstock
  • Watercolor Paper
  • Grass String and Sequins
  • Light Paste
  • Glitter
  • Black Paint
  • Stencil
  • Masking Tape

Cut an A5 size card from white cardstock and a piece from the pattern sheet (13 cm x 20 cm) to fit.

Tip: Leave a fairly large border to make the white cardstock card visible.

Cut another piece (12 cm x 19 cm) from watercolor paper to fit the pattern sheet also leaving a border. Add a mixed media textured die to the bottom section and cut. Use a stencil and the decades inks to colour the background. Using the same stencil add light paste and then sprinkle some glitter on top. Remove excess and leave to dry.

Tip: Use masking tape to keep the die in place, thus making sure it stays in the position you want it.

Cut a small piece (12 cm x 12 cm) from watercolor paper to fit behind the textured piece. Randomly colour with decades inks.

Adhere the coloured piece behind the textured card.

Cut a few die cut shapes and fussy cut some butterflies and roses from the pattern sheets.

Stamp the images onto watercolor paper and then die cut them. Ink the edges with decades inks.

Tip: Stamp image first and then die cut, thus making sure the image fits the shape.

Adhere the stamped images with adhesive foam squares.

Tip: The foam gives it extra dimension.

Add the flowers and tuck some grass string underneath.

Add some sequins and black paint splatters for the finishing touch.” ~Tanya

What a wonderful tutorial!  Big thanks to Tanya fro sharing these genius ideas, and to you for stopping by.  We hope this card has inspired you to grab your inks and stamps and join our January Challenge.  Be sure to leave your stamping tips, and love in the comments below.  Have a wonderful day, and as always...

Happy Papercrafting!

Steapunk is always shown in dark colors with metallic accents, so it was nice to see a light, airy steampunk project with lots of bright colours and light accents (like strands of grass rather than big and heavy cogwheels). Thank you for the inspiration!
