Hello, G45ers!

Today we have a special blog in honor World Card Making Day, which is tomorrow, October 7th 2017. We are ringing in the holiday with a double feature. First Olga Heldwein shares her pretty & pink Portrait of a Lady card and box set. This set would make a perfect wedding gift. We love the effect from the transparent layer. Next up, Nico Scrap shares his dark & dangerous Master Detective pocket card. This interactive fold out card is fun and function, will plenty of space to include those spooky sentiments. Check them out below, but first our weekly blog prize winner...

...and the winner is Denise Shearing who comment to say, "stunning! absolutely love these" Congratulations, Denise. Please contact to claim your prize.

Pretty & Pink Card and Box Set

By Olga Heldwein

“Today I have a card in a box for you. I wanted to create something special for the upcoming wedding season in my family and I come up with this. As it is a special occasion card, I wanted to have special wrapping, and that’s why I went with a box instead of an envelope. In my opinion, this is a more elegant way to present those special cards.

The card and box are a perfect match. I used Portrait of a Lady Patterns and Solids papers here. I loved this combination of cream, pinks, and deep bottle green. It added a nice feeling to the project.

This card is not traditional at all. It has a nice floral composition (all elements were die cut from solid papers to have perfect color match) on a transparent background.

It appears that card has a green background because I locked a transparency between paper layers. Then I covered glue marks with nice pieces of paper from the other side. Greetings may be added separately or hidden in the small pocket inside. ~Olga Heldwein

Master Detective Pocket Card

By Nico Scrap

“Halloween, it’s right behind the corner, and we must be ready for a spooky party, right? I’ve loved this collection so much that I've decided to make a tri-fold card in pure Halloween style! On the outside, I’ve cut out an amazing frame with Dr. Watson, and on the inside some amazing pockets and tags where you can write something on them!” ~Nico Scrap

The cards are beautiful as always. I have just been working with the Master Detective papers with Clare Charville. I also adore the Portrait of a Lady paper set. Dx

What great ideas for fanciful cards! Totally two different pallets, but both projects are stunning! I tend to gravitate towards the darker side (pallet wise)!

I am such a fan of all the collections. My favorite is Nico's detective card. How clever. I may try to recreate this for my mystery buff fans.
