Shaker Wallet Mini
“Hello, Friends! You’ve heard the saying, “All good things must come to an end.” It’s one of those facts of life that is inescapable. So here I find myself at the end of my two-year term as a Graphic 45 Brand Ambassador. I can honestly say that I’ve had the time of my life representing this amazing company. It hasn’t always been easy to meet the challenges and deadlines, but it sure has been fun! I feel like I have really blossomed and grown as a designer during this time. So for my farewell post, I chose to work with the Floral Shoppe Collection. The sentiments found on the ephemera cards say everything that is in my heart about this wonderful experience of being a G45 Brand Ambassador.
"Bloom where you are planted."
This is a 6” x 4” photo wallet with a shaker element on the cover. I chose this sentiment because I am so thankful that I was planted on this team!
Tip: Add a frame to the top of a shaker element to conceal the adhesive beneath. I die cut two layers of Sunlit Medley using a Tim Holtz Ornate Frame Die. The frames were adhered together for strength, then added over the top of shaker element.
The photo wallet has a ribbon closure to hold everything together. I adhered gingham ribbon to the back of the folio, then tied a bow in the front.
I love working with Graphic 45 chipboard elements! I used this “Garden” Tab to balance out the floral cluster on the left hand side of the wallet.
Policy envelopes are amazingly versatile. I cut the bottom from a Black Square Policy Envelope to build this pocket page.
You can’t let a perfectly good pocket remain empty, so I filled this one with photo mounts, a 3” x 4” ephemera card and a little tag.
Tip: Need a tag in a hurry? Most Graphic 45 Sticker Sheets have a gift tag sized sticker. Simply mat this on the cardstock of your choice, trim around the edges, add a chipboard charm and you’ve got a lovely little tag in no time!
The front page of the photo wallet folds down to reveal two 6” x 4” photo mounts. I worked mostly with the “B” sides of each paper to keep the design from becoming too busy.
Tip: Add a small magnet to the back of this “Bloom and Grow” ticket from the Floral Shoppe Tags and Pockets. Add another magnet beneath the designer paper on the facing page and you’ve got a nifty magnetic closure for this gatefold mechanism.
This center fold down page is created with the rest of that Black Square Policy Envelope. I show you how to do this in the video tutorial below.
I’ve created little “wings” on either side of the center panel to house these ATC Policy Envelopes and Pockets & Tags.
Friends really are the flowers in the garden of life! I’m so thankful for having had the opportunity to forge new friendships with the other Brand Ambassadors on my team. I now have friends all across the globe thanks to this amazing experience.
Another hinge element turns the ATC Envelopes into flap pages. I added slash pockets and ATC Ivory Tags here.
These ATC sized mini cards fit neatly inside each of the ATC policy envelopes. I just used the scraps on my table, a die cut frame and these lovely floral stickers to decorate each card.
Working with this collection is pure joy...and working with Graphic 45 is absolute bliss. I’m very, very thankful that I’ll be continuing on as Special Projects Designer alongside the amazing Annette Green and the charming Maria Cole this year. Beautiful papers combined with beautiful people has made being a Brand Ambassador the best experience of my life. And now you have a fresh new crew of amazing artists to carry the torch of creativity forward. Life is good!
I have one final tutorial as Brand Ambassador to share with you. This one has some gaffes and goofs in it, just to prove that I am human and I do make mistakes! But you will also learn how to build the base of this lovely little photo wallet...and learn to avoid the pitfalls that tripped me up! I hope you enjoy!
Thanks for making the journey so memorable! Group hug!”
