Marina Blaukitchen

"Hi everyone! It is Marina, and first of all, I want to say how proud I am to be part of the Graphic 45 design team for a second term as Brand Ambassador. Graphic 45 has always been my favorite brand so I cannot feel happier than I am right now.

I live in Valencia, a city on the Mediterranean coast of Spain. I’ve been married to Juan for 33 years, and we have two daughters, Marina (30 years old) and Paty (27 years old) that is getting married today! We also have two dogs, Paul & Yaky, and two cats, Cookie & Nena to complete the family!

I like reading, cruising, gardening, baking, and most of all scrapbooking and crafting!

My favorite scrapbooking tool are scissors. I can’t live without them. I always carry them with me and take every opportunity to fussy cut.

I love to make scrapbooks and projects in my craft room with my TV on. I always listen to every film or TV program but never watch them because I am so focused on what I’m doing that I don’t look up! Also, I like to listen to music while I’m working.

The first Graphic 45 collection I worked with was French Country. I fell in love immediately and started to look for other G45 Collections in my country until I found some more and brought them all with me as great found treasures.

It is very easy and fun to make your own bindings, there are a lot of techniques and I go on investigating about.

Tips:

1.- You can use any fabric or self-adhesive ones. You have to be very careful if you are dealing with very thin fabrics. It is preferable to test the glue on the fabric to check that it does not stain or deteriorate.

In the case of staining, you will have to choose to use double-sided tape to adhere it to the cardboard and glue to stick the internal parts that will not be seen when the binding is finished.

2.- The albums can be any size. It is very important to take the measurements of each piece well so that they fit well when we proceed to the assembly of the album. Test the pieces to check that they are of the necessary measurement before gluing.

3.- The spines of the album can be sewn and we can add beads, findings, chipboards or any other embellishments so that it is richly adorned. When they are on our shelves they will look beautiful.
