Hello, G45ers!

A day late and a dollar short, but still pumped to share this amazing 4th of July tag tutorial by Glenys Vidal.  This tag was created in celebration of our #SimplyG45 - July Challenge.  We are loving how Glenys has mixed and matched collections to create this holiday specific tag.  But before we start the fun we have this week's blog winner to announce!

Weekly Blog Winner

This week’s prize package included an Off to the Races 12x12 Paper Pad, Patterns & Solids Paper Pad, Die-Cut Banners, Journaling Chipboard, Regular Tags, Clock Keys, and Celebrate—ATC Tags, a $70+ value. The Winner is… Bev Drake!

Bev had this to say on Easy Giftcard Holder Tutorial blog: "What a lovely clever idea for a gift card. Another of my favourite G45 papers too. Love it. Bev"

Big thanks to everyone who left comments on our blog, Facebook, and Instagram this week, you make our creative world go round!  Bev, please email info@g45papers.com to claim your prize.

Easy 4th of July Decor

By Glenys Vidal

"I love creating simple home decor items, especially around the holidays. For the 4th of July celebration, I wanted to create a festive tag for my desk and for this project I wanted to reuse scraps of papers that I still had from previous finished projects.

For my project, I used a regular size tag, ribbon, papers from two different collections and a few fussy cut pieces. Graphic 45 papers are perfect for this type of projects, you can use different paper collections and they will still match perfectly.

For the base of the tag, I used paper from the Communique collection and two squares from the Cityscapes collection. I then added foam tape to create layers on my tag and add dimension to it. The Lady of Liberty is an awesome image from the Communique collection.

Then using my scraps I created elements to decorate my tag: stars in different colors and ripped pieces of paper. I also used two stickers from a different paper collection that I had in my stash.

Hoping you like this quick project and wishing a Happy Independence Day to all of you!” ~Glenys

The email for the summer release suggested I leave my commentary on the blog (I do not have Facebook) but this may be the correct page (?). I will comment again if there is a better page. I have to say that I love the flutter collection. Really brilliant.
