Joy to the World – Christmas Card – Peace on Earth

By Tanya Scrap

“Hello, dear G45ers! Happy to share with you my Seasonal project this month featuring the beautiful Joy to the World Collection. This is such a beautiful Christmas line, I absolutely adore it! I have created an A5 size Christmas Card using lots of different cutting dies, string, flowers and the collections pretty chipboard embellishments and ephemera cards.

Graphic 45 Supply List:

Joy to the World 8x8 Paper Pad

Joy to the World Chipboard

Joy to the World Stickers

Joy to the World Ephemera Cards

Large Tag, ATC Tag and Flower Dies

Matte Pearl Gems

Other Supplies:

  • Various Cutting Dies
  • Wire
  • String
  • Flowers
  • White Cardstock
  • Eyelets
  • Scoring Board
  • Masking Tape
  • Foam Board/Cardboard

Cut an A5 size card from white cardstock and score in half.

Mat a sheet from the pattern sheets in the 8×8 collection to fit the white cardstock card, leave a fairly large border. You can use your own discretion when measuring. Then add a mixed media texture cutting die to the bottom section and cut.

Tip: Use masking tape to keep the die in place, thus making sure it stays in the position you want it.

Cut a few die-cut shapes for decoration and layering.

Tip: Die-cut pieces work great for layering.

Use one of the larger ephemera cards and place a rectangle die over the image and cut. I used a stitched rectangle die. Mat this piece onto white cardstock. Also cut a tag from one of the smaller ephemera cards. Add an eyelet.

Add some matte pearl gems on the ephemera card.

Tip: These flat back pearls add great accents to cards. I love that the Graphic 45 pearls are self-adhesive. No need to glue.

Layer the die-cut pieces and ephemera adhere a piece of foam board (optional) behind the cluster.

Tip: Adding foam board will give the layered cluster dimension. You could also use some cardboard instead of the foam board.

Tuck some of the die-cut leaves between the petals of the flowers.

Tip: By tucking the leaves between the flower petals will give it some extra dimension.

Add some eyelets to the chipboard embellishments.

Add some string and wire underneath the flowers for extra texture.

I hope this project inspires you to recreate your own, remember it is never too early to start making Christmas cards.

Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Papercrafting!”
