Altered Embroidery Hoop Tutorial

“Hello, again G45 fans! Cecilia here, starting 2022 with an adorable tutorial for which I used the sweet and exquisite Once Upon a Springtime DCE paper pad. In the video tutorial, I will show you how to alter an embroidery hoop with mixed media techniques and also to shape the flowers to give them a beautiful volume. I’ll share some tricks to get dimensions with a few elements. You can see in the pics the words Happy Birthday, well my birthday is in January and I thought this could be a great gift to hang it in a door or any special place. What do you need to make this project? here´s the list:

 

-Graphic 45 Supply List-

Once Upon a Springtime DCE (retired)

-Tag, Pocket & Butterfly Dies.

-Large Tag, ATC Tag & Flower Metal Dies.

-Folder & Sentiment Dies.

-Matte Pearls Gems. (out of stock)

 
-Other Supplies-

-6 ¼” wooden embroidery hoop.

-Echo Park Doily #3 die set.

– 15” x 6” cream tulle.

-Texture Paste, crackle by Finnabair.

-Aleene´s quick dry tacky glue.

-UHU.

-Seam binding.

-Lindy’s starburst: Cosmopolitan pink.

-White gold metallique wax by Finnabair & Vintage silk Opal Magic wax.

-Tools to shape flowers.

-white pom poms, some pearls & sequins with matching colors.

– 1 sheet cream cardstock and leftover pieces of acetate.

-Hot gun & silicon sticks.

Here are some tricks:

 

TIP – Die cut several times the words and stick them together to make them as chipboard pieces-

 

 

TIP – To stick them on your project it is better to use a piece of acetate. Stick the word on it, let it dry and then add it to your project.

 

 

TIP – To alter the hoop add the crackle past all around, let it air dry, the crackles will be deepest, and then add a bit of wax or distress ink.

 

 

TIP – To shape the flowers use your tools as I showed you in the video when they’re assembled embellish them with small pearls, sequin or anything that helps to look prettiest.
