Spring is in the Air Mini Album

Tutorial by Maria Smeshkova

“Hello everyone! Today I’m excited to share my brand-new spring mini album created with the vibrant and joyful Spring is in the Air” collection from Graphic 45.

This album is full of soft florals, playful bunnies, butterflies, and beautiful spring colors that bring the whole project to life. I created a detailed base with pockets, flaps, folders, and interactive elements, leaving plenty of room for photos and journaling.

The cover features an ornate epoxy resin frame, which I painted to match the collection and embellished with soft fabric flowers. I used rub-ons, ephemera, and fussy cut images throughout the album to highlight the gorgeous paper designs without overwhelming them.

Flaps and pockets are filled with tags and mini folders, perfect for adding photos and memories. I kept the embellishments fairly light to let the paper speak for itself, but added just enough dimension for interest.

I filmed a full video tutorial showing how to create this album from start to finish — you can watch it here.

Scrapbooking Tips from Maria’s Project:

  • Let the paper shine: Use fussy cut images and light embellishments to highlight the beauty of your patterned papers without overwhelming the design.

  • Think interactive: Flaps, pockets, and folders add dimension and provide more space for photos and journaling.

  • Repurpose and personalize: Maria used an epoxy resin frame and painted it to coordinate with the collection—get creative with embellishments you already have!

  • Keep it functional: Even beautiful albums should be practical. Maria ensures every page has a purpose—photo spots, journaling space, and thoughtful layout.
