Card Set with a Secret Message Window

Hello, G45ers!

We are thrilled to kick off the weekend with these adorable Make a Wish Secret Message Cards.  These handmade cards have been made by the talented and lovely, Melissa Merritt using minimal supplies, including our Fairie Wings Ephemera Cards, a Lawn Fawn Die, embossing powder, and a few ink pads.  We hope this card set inspires you to create some magic this weekend, and when you do be sure to share your projects with us on our Graphic 45 – Official Community Page on Facebook.

FAIRY “MAKE A WISH” CARDS

By: Melissa Merritt

“I made some 4 x 5½” Birthday cards using Graphic 45’s Fairie Wings Journaling and Ephemera Cards.  I fussy cut the flowers and fairies from the Journaling Cards and then created soft backgrounds to attach them to.  These cards turned out adorable, but I had some help with the Magic Iris die from Lawn Fawn.  Below are steps to show how I fussy cut the cards and created these soft backgrounds.

The Fairie Wings collection makes some magical cards.

The “Make a Wish” center is stamped and then I  used white embossing powder.

FUSSY CUTTING

You can see by the pictures that I choose my Journaling cards and cut out the flowers and fairies.

BACKGROUND

I used Tim Holtz Distress Oxides: Speckled Egg, Picked Raspberry and Shabby Shutter.  I inked the entire card.  Then I took the same ink on my craft mat, added water and used a paint brush to add splatters onto the card.

Once the background is complete, I added my flowers and fairies, and then assembled my cards.

I hope this inspires you to make your own magical fairy cards.

Happy Papercrafting!
