Craft Studio Tour – Featuring Einat Kessler

Hello, G45ers!

  It is Tuesday, and today we have a terrific craft studio tour by our talented Brand Ambassador, Einat Kessler, a ton of helpful tips, and a trio of her tantalizing projects. Craft Studio Tour

“Hi Crafty friends, Einat Kessler here with a grand tour of my creative studio. This is the space where all the creative magic happens!

My studio is not very big so I have to find space for all my supplies, and that is not always an easy task. I basically use all the free space I have, and that includes walls and under my working desk.

 

Storage Tip #1: Go high! Utilize the height of the walls, and store supplies you don’t need every day on high shelves so you’ll have more free space where you need it! I got some shelves from IKEA so I can adjust the space between the shelves as well.

 

 

 

 

Storage Tip #2: go vertical! I don’t store my pages according to theme, color or pattern. I remember each page that I have (don’t ask me how) and where it is, so where I need it I can get it. The only requirement is that they’ll be upright so I’ll be able to flip through them.

 

 

I didn’t want to buy the plastic boxes to store my papers so I created my own. Fortunately, my husband’s shoe size is large enough so the shoe boxes are a perfect fit for a 12X12 paper while standing on their side. I cut out the top of the box and covered it with strong bookbinding special paper. It makes the box strong especially at the seams. Then I covered the front with a better color paper because I didn’t like the bookbinding paper color.

 

This is the organizer I built from toilet paper rolls is now sitting on my desk.

 

Storage Tip #3: Recycle! Instead of buying storage solutions create them yourselves with materials you have like shoe boxes and toilet paper rolls.

 

I keep my few trims in glass jars. Each jar is for a different color. This makes it easier to see what’s in them and also because I like to arrange them in the order of the rainbow colors so it brights up the room. I got the jars in a store that sells dishes and kitchen supplies, it was much cheaper there than in a craft store.

 

My big punches are stored on two narrow shelves. These are kitchen racks for spices which have a slit for the spices containers I got at IKEA. That is really handy for the big punches which I put against the wall while the slit serves as a stopper. The smaller punches are stored in a plastic drawer chest I got at the dollar store.

 

Storage Tip #4: go frugal! Don’t be tempted to buy fancy storage solutions in the craft store. Find alternative cheaper solutions like DIY stores or stores for house supplies.

 

 

My favorite thing for storage is boxes! I love boxes in all shapes and sizes and I will always find something to put in them! I store everything in them from washi tapes, small chipboard to metal embellishments and clock parts.

 

Storage Tip #5: boxes! Get boxes with a pretty pattern and make sure they all have lids so you can stack them on top of each other.

 

And if you think that my creative space always looks tidy and organized think again! Just to let you know I’m not perfect and I don’t feel like cleaning sometimes, here’s how my space looks most of the time…
