Album in a Box

“Hello Graphic 45 Friends!
It’s Nikki Sher here back this month to show you an awesome album I created using the new Autumn Greetings Collection. When I first saw this collection, I fell in love! How could you not with that adorable deer and charming fox? I chose to pair this line with one of my favorite Graphic 45 Staples – the Album in a Box.
One of my favorite things about this album is that you can choose to adhere the spine directly into the album or you can create a cover for the album like I did. I chose to add a chipboard cover to mine. It’s a tight fit but you can make it work! After fitting the album cover, I went ahead and decorated the box. I wanted to make sure I had plenty of paper for my album, so decorating the box first was a must!
To decorate the album and box I used the 8×8 Collection Pack and the 12×12 Patterns and Solids Pack which gave me plenty of paper to play with! First, I covered all the pages in the album then added a few cards to the pockets. The 8×8 paper is perfectly proportioned to fit this album and the cards fit perfectly!
Once all the pages were covered, I started adding my embellishments. For this I used the Sticker Sheet and Ephemera Set. Since some of the images in the Ephemera set were a little large for the album, I ended up trimming some small parts off. However, by keeping the focal points of the image intact, you can barely tell!
When decorating any album, I want to make sure the images I’m using are grounded somehow – not just floating in the air. Since this was such a tight space I felt like I needed to ground the images with small strips of patterned paper. This way, the viewer can have a seamless line of sight between the photo and the embellishments used.
I really loved creating with the Autumn Greetings Collection and can’t wait to work on another project with it! What are you planning to make first?
Thank you so much for taking the time to read about my Autumn Greetings Album in a Box project. I hope I’ve inspired you to create something today and as always, please stay happy, healthy and crafty!
