Little Darlings Baby Album
By Sandy Trefger
In December 2017, I designed a folio type Mini Album for Graphic 45 using the fabulous Raining Cats and Dogs collection–Cat Lovers Mini Album. I had many ask if there was a tutorial for it. However, it was a project that did not require a tutorial so I didn’t create one but I had kept notes as I was designing it. So, I decided to re-create it using the Little Darlings DCE for this months assignment. It’s awesome to see how a project looks in different collections and for different themes. I hope you enjoy creating your own little album in whatever Graphic 45 collection you choose.
Graphic 45 Baby Album Tutorial
Graphic 45 Supplies:
Other Supplies:
- Artisan Ivory Cardstock
- Prima “Bedtime Story” Flowers
- Seam Binding Ribbon, Ivory
- Merchant 41 Lace, Ivory
- Natural Button Twine
- Decorative Edge Punch
- Tag Punch
- Decorative Corner Punch, Scallop
This little album would make a wonderful new baby brag book or grandparent’s gift. The pages are mirrored on the left and right with the left featuring the blues for a boy and the right featuring the pinks for a girl but could be interchangeable.
Tip: When adding stickers for decoration onto a photo mat, use corn starch of baby powder to remove the stickiness from the area that will stick over the mat and eventually a photo and just stick down the corner of the sticker so a photo can be slipped on to the mat easily. Also, in this type of folio album, use stickers instead of chipboard elements on the inside of your album to keep it flat and easy to fold. Cut-aparts also make excellent decorative elements in folio albums.
Tip: Use scraps of paper to create loose belly bands to go around extra photo mats and tags and slip the entire piece into a pocket in your album.
I hope I’ve inspired you to create a mini album with my tutorial whether it be a baby album or pet album or any album with the different and beautiful Graphic 45 collections. Below is a photo of my original album that I created with this design. Happy Crafting! ~ Sandy Trefger
