DIY Craft Room Organizer Featuring Fairie Dust

Hello, G45ers!

It seems we are always in need of storage containers, especially for our always growing craft supplies.  In this post Alexandra Morein helps us solve this problem with a step by step guide on how to create your own divided storage box.  This organizer is great for ribbon, glitter, embellishments and more.  Alexandra uses Graphic 45's Fairie Dust paper collection and our Deep Rectangle Matchbook Box.  This project is one of three parts of our 3×3 Craft Basket Challenge using our Deep Rectangle Matchbook Box, Metal Door Plate & Knobs, and G45 Papers.  The other two stunning boxes were done by Brand Ambassadors, Aneta Matuszewska and Olga Heldwein, you can find photos and YouTube tutorials for their posts below.

Fairie Dust Storage Box

“Here is my take on the monthly 3X3 Craft Challenge where we needed to use 3 of the following

Graphic 45 Supplies:

Staples - Shabby Chic Metal Door Plates & Knobs

Staples - Deep Rectangle Matchbook Box

Fairie Dust 8x8 Pad

  • Metal Door Plates

  • Ivory Deep Rectangle Matchbook Box

  • 8X8 Paper Pad

I am sure lots of us could use another beautiful box for a storage of craft supplies. It can be ribbons, buttons, lace, paint bottles etc. I’ve embellished my box with the Fairie Dust papers, added chipboard separators to the drawer and plan to put my Ranger Stickles and Liquid Pearls bottle inside.

I have a Snapguide tutorial which shows the process of making the inside drawer separators, as well as embellishing the box with the designer paper.” ~Alexandra

Vagabond Box

“Today I prepared an altered piece. I used French Country – Collector’s Editon. It’s a great vintage collection with lots of country-themed images and amazing patterns. It has a super user-friendly collection palette and you can create tons of different projects with this one. As Easter is coming I would like to mention that this one will be perfect for vintage Easter and spring-themed creations.

I really love how this piece tuned out but I had a bit of struggle with this project – like we all do sometimes. I didn’t give up only because I didn't want to waste papers as they fit me perfectly.

If you want to check out creative process of making this one I have prepared a video tutorial for you.” ~Olga
