This journal has been created by lovely and talented, Aleksandra Mihelič. Aleksandra used Graphic 45 Policy Envelopes, our Place in Time – Deluxe Collector’s Edition, and an ATC Book Box is such an innovative way to create the cover of her journal, check it out below! So grab a cup of tea and let's start this week off right!
DIY Junk Journal
“Hello dear G45er’s. It’s Aleksandra here with you today sharing a lovely Vintage Junk Journal, created with Graphic 45 ATC Book Box, some random leftover papers, few small policy envelopes and tags and gorgeous Place in Time – Deluxe Collector’s Edition collection.
I wanted to do a small Junk Journal that wouldn’t take much space and where I could have some small photos and beautiful quotes collected together. ATC Book Box was a perfect fit for the size of it, so I decided to remove the inner box and dress it into beautiful Canvas.
For the inside part I cut some left-over watercolor papers, craft papers and Graphic 45 papers. I added also some burlap pages and made four stacks of paper which I folded in half and stitched together on the inner edges like a book. I added them to the covers made from ATC Book Box.
I then decorated the front page and some inner pages, using small photos and quotes that I cut out from “Place in Time” paper collection. I added lots of Vintage yarns and laces to make it more Vintage and Shabby looking. I always had this perception that junk journal should be Vintage looking, although these are just perceptions we sometimes create in our mind. If we are able to let them go, amazing things can happen. So my next adventure is another Junk Journal in a different style soon.
Tip: Embellish the spine of the Journal with laces, ribbons, yarns, chipboards and/or flowers to add to the interest and dimension of the Journal or even an Album.
Tip: Place in Time collection has these gorgeous Postcard images on every page. Cut them out and glue them only with the edge between two papers to create an extra layer in between.
Tip: Graphic 45 Small Policy Envelopes are just a perfect size to add to small Albums and Journals. If you glue them down only with back you still can use the inside of the envelopes to stuck in some extra Treasures or Journaling Sheets.
Tip: Add some chipboard pieces to make your pages more dimensional and more fun!
