“Halloween is upon us! And it’s the perfect excuse to mix a little spooky with a lot of pretty! I made this pumpkin-shaped scrapbook album using the Ghostly Greetings paper collection by Graphic 45. I also wanted this to be very deep into the Halloween theme so I used my Cricut to cut some pumpkin-shaped album bases and honestly, I’m obsessed with how it turned out!

Between the pumpkins, broomsticks, and pops of moody florals, this album feels like a sweet little spell book for all my favorite fall memories. I had so much fun layering the papers, adding texture with flowers and lace, and tucking in tiny Halloween details that make it feel extra magical.

Tip: Try adding torn pages from old, worn-out books as accents on your layouts! They add such unique character and vintage charm. Plus, it’s a great way to upcycle books that you no longer use. It gives your Halloween project that perfectly haunted, old-library feel.” ~Janus

Paper Crafting Tips

“I wanted this pumpkin album to feel like a sweet little spell book,” says Janus. “It’s a mix of dark and dreamy — pumpkins, broomsticks, and moody florals — all layered to create depth and charm.”

  • Add texture with purpose: Combine lace, chipboard, and acetate layers to create visual interest and depth. The contrast of soft textures against bold prints makes your project feel dimensional and polished.

  • Use book pages as embellishments: Tear pages from old or damaged books to give your project a vintage, haunted-library aesthetic. It’s sustainable, adds history, and perfectly complements the Ghostly Greetings palette.

  • Play with scale and shape: Don’t be afraid to cut your album base into a unique silhouette — like Janus’ pumpkin shape — using your Cricut or die-cutting machine for a truly custom creation.

  • Highlight details with metallic accents: A touch of gold or copper wax can make your spooky details shimmer like candlelight — perfect for that “enchanted at midnight” effect.
