DIY Slimline Christmas Cards
Tutorial by Anna Sigga
“Hi there.
It is time to start prepping for the Holiday season, and I thought I would take an idea from the “Autumn Greeting Card Kit” and take it to the next level, #G45LeveledUp, and make it slimline.
-Video Tutorial-
The card base mesures 8 ⅜ x 7 inches.
You score on the 7-inch side at 1 ¾ and 5 ¼ and should have a gatefolding card.
For the patterned papers, I cut mine to the following measurements:
- 1 ⅝ x 8 ¼ inches – two pieces for the front and two for the inside of the card.
- 3 ¼ x 8 1 /4 – one piece for the inside centre of the card.
You then need two pieces to create the floating images of your card. I mine at 1 x 5 inches. You then score them at 1 ¼ and 2, ½ and 3 ¼.
Decorate your card with the patterned paper of your choice. Then, use the two pieces to create a box and place them inside your cards. I used mine for the upper and lower parts.
Choose one of the beautiful smaller images from the ephemera package and decorate it as you like.
To close the card, we need a belly band. Here are my measurements for the bellyband: 1 x 8 ¾ inches. Then, you just wrap it around the card and adhere it together.
To decorate the bellyband, you need only pick a sticker or a cut-out, cut a patterned paper of your choice to create a background and adhere it to the band.
Happy crafting!”
