- Two pieces of 3.75″ x 3.75″ for the front and back panels.
- One strip of 3.75″ x 1.25″ for the spine.
- Add a 3.5″ x 3.5″ piece layered on the front panel to add depth and contrast.
- Kraft paper to 8″ x 2⅜”.
- Use an ATC metal die on one side to make it decorative.
- Score at 3″ and 4.5″.
- Add matching patterned papers on the flap.
- Glue the closure to the back of the card so it wraps around the front.
- Add magnets under the paper layers so the closure clicks shut perfectly.
- Choose Patterned Papers for the tunnel layers
- Page 1: 4.5″ x 4″ (0.5″ used for gluing to the front)
- Page 2: 4″ x 4″
- Page 3: 4″ x 4″
- Page 4: 4.5″ x 4″ (0.5″ for the back edge attachment)
- Use nested circle dies to cut progressively larger or smaller circles in the center of each page to create the tunnel effect.
- Create the Tunnel Holder (Accordion Fold):
- Kraft paper 4.5″ x 4″ – 2 pieces.
- Score every 0.5″, accordion fold, and use these as side hinges.
- Secure each of the tunnel pages one behind the other on the folds of the accordion sides.
- Adhere the assembled tunnel to the inside of the base card.
- Use chipboard elements, fussy cut pieces, and ephemera from the Curiouser and Curiouser line.
- Added the gorgeous antique brass Ornate Keyhole from Graphic 45 to the front as a nod to Wonderland’s many doors and mysteries.

Cardmaker Tips from Eva’s Craft Table:
-
Score precisely — for neat folds and a polished tunnel effect, sharp scoring lines are key.
-
Layer with intention — use contrasting patterns and solid cardstock to build visual depth.
-
Mind your magnets — place them under patterned paper for a seamless, hidden closure.
-
Circle dies are your best friend — mix sizes to create the perfect illusion of depth.
-
Embellish with storytelling in mind — use characters and icons from the collection to guide the viewer through your tunnel scene.
-
Accordion folds = structural magic — don’t rush this step; the accordion hinge brings the tunnel to life.
