#G45DarkSide Card Set

 

Hello, G45ers!

 Happy Fri-yay crafty friends!  Today we have a fully loaded and fun blog for you.  Starting with 2 cards by Babi Kind in celebration of our #G45DarkSide – October Challenge.  This month's challenge is super simple, just create a project using graphic 45 in the theme of Steampunk, Mixed Media, and/or Halloween.  Following these stunning cards we have our 12, that is right, not 1, not 2, but TWELVE Fall Sneak Peek Winners to announce, so be sure to check the list to see if you are a lucky winner of one of the $95 Fall release prize packages!  

 

#G45DarkSide – Dimensional Cards

“Hi Everyone!

I am back today with two cards for this month’s challenge.

Looking to do something different from my usual style, I made two cards with dark colours.  It’s always good to do something different every now and then.

 

I chose Olde Curiosity Shoppe to create both cards.  I love the golden shades and butterflies from this collection.

 

 

For my first card, I alternated the colors of the layers to create more contrast. I went from dark to light and finished with a black frame.

 

 

I cut this beautiful butterfly and glued it with foam tape to add depth to the card.
 

 

I added an old key on the butterfly and finished it off by sprinkling white gesso to it.

 

 

I followed the same pattern on my second card: Started with dark color and finished with a lighter paper.

 

 

I combined an Artist Trading Tag along with ATC Tag die to create the centerpiece. Then, I decorated with more papers, chipboard, and a butterfly.

 

 

Tip: Create beautiful details on your elements using embossing powder and an embossing pen.  For this project, I used gold embossing powder to match the papers.
