Flutter Butterfly Box

By Kasia Bogatko

“Hello,

Today I have for you colorful and spring inspiration. Winter is still in Poland, it is gray and dark, so I decided to bring back some spring in my studio. The Flutter collection is perfect for this! It has a lot of beautiful butterflies and flowers, wonderful colors, it is cheerful and full of life.

I made a box based on Mixed Media 5×5 black box. I filled it with a whole flock of butterflies. How to do it? The recipe is very simple and the effect is worth the time spent cutting. Prepare a large number of butterflies and a plastic sheet. Plastic, which is often in the packaging of acrylic stamps, will work great here. We cut out a narrow stripe, bend one end and glue the butterfly. The other end is also bent and glued to the bottom of the box. The plastic strap is almost invisible, so we have the illusion of flying insects. Stick the butterflies of different sizes and on shorter and longer strips to even out of the box, then the effect will be the best. Below you will find a video where you can see how I did it.

Then we need to glue the papers to make the box more joyful. I didn’t want to add to many colors and embellishments, because the interior plays the main role here. I used papers from the Flutter Collection Pack and from Patterns & Solids pad. I also added a few stickers on the cover and the back of the box.

Such a box can be a great way to make wishes, it will perfectly replace a traditional card. For example, you can write wishes on a small piece of paper, roll it up and place it between the butterflies.

I hope this project inspired you to create your version of the flying box.” ~Kasia
