Steampunk spells  – Haunted Mini album

By Linda Roos

“Hi! I’m back for another project. I made a haunted mini album that measures 6×7 which makes it perfect for the 8×8 papers.

As you can see, I have decorated the album with the same papers on the left and right sides, and because of that I needed to use some papers from the 12×12 paper pad as well. I believe that you can do as I did or pick up two of the 8×8 instead, or you just don’t decorate the album with the same on both sides.

I love to decorate my albums with mirror cards in different colors that look nice with the paper collection. I think it gives the album a luxurious finish. This time I used one with the color silky sky.

I took a chipboard piece with a brad to use as a swing tab.

The flowers that you can make with the die, large tag, atc tag & flower metal dies, are very easy to assemble. One more thing that makes the dies great is that you just use the leftovers that you have and can easily match the flowers with the papers in the album.

Here comes a walkthrough and tutorial video.

To create this project here are the measurements and supply list:

The measurements:

They might sound a bit confusing but if you follow my tutorial on youtube it will make sense. If you follow the tutorial you will only use 5 cardstock.

Take 5 black cardstock and cut as the measurements down, IMPORTANT start every paper with cutting on 7.

  1. 7×6

  2. 7×7 score ½ , 1

  3. 7×6 ¾ score ½ , ¾

  4. 7×6 ¾ score ½ , ¾

  5. 7×7 ½ score ½ , 1 ½

This means that you have leftovers that measure this:

  • 5- 5×12 that we call A

  • 1- 7×6 that we call B

  • 2- 7x 5 ¼ that we call C

  • 1- 7×5 that we call D

  • 1- 7×4 ½ that we call E

The leftover pieces you will cut and score like this:

  1. E score at ½ with the 4 ½ up against the scoreboard

  2. 2xA cut on 6 and score at 1 with the 5 up against the scoreboard

  3. 1xA cut on 6 and score one piece at ½ and the other one at ½ , 1 ½ with the 6 up against the scoreboard

  4. 2xC score one as a L and one as a backwards L, ½ inch at two sides

  5. 1xA cut on 6 and score them on ½ with the 5 up against the scoreboard

  6. D cut so you have two 7×2 ½ score at ½ , 6 ½ with the 7 up against the scoreboard

  7. 1xA cut at 6 and score ½ with the 5 up against the scoreboard

  8. B cut so you have two 7×3 and score ½ with the 3 up against the scoreboard
