“Hello fellow artists,

My name is Madi Azar, and I reside in beautiful sunny Florida, USA. My husband and I are the proud parents of 2 incredible young people, one full grown son and our teenager Autistic daughter who is the inspiration behind our family art adventure known as Spectrum Art Creations on social media.

We started crafting as a motivation for my daughter to get through therapies and school lessons and soon realize that it was something that we both loved to do. Art allowed us to bond and taught us that anyone can craft. Crafting is therapeutic and healing despite of age, ability, or limitations. There is no right or wrong in art, just create whatever brings you joy.

I love creating and sharing tutorials that maximize your time and allow you to easily follow along (as a busy mom, I totally understand). I am eclectic in my style and love playing with everything from paper crafting to mix media.

Ever since I was a child, I have looked forward to taking in a Nutcracker show. As a mother of 2, I got to relive that joy with my children year after year. The Nutcracker is a classic that is loved by all, despite age or language.

Wanting to capture those memories in a box would require nothing less than the beauty of the Graphic 45 Nutcracker Sweet paper line and a bit of uncle Drosometer mystical, magical secrecy, and ingenuity.

So, I’ve created a Nutcracker Sweet hinged 3D shadow box with a secret compartment which will serve not only as a decoration but also a way to safekeep a journal, favorite recipes, photos, and maybe a gift.

We stand outside Clara’s home, looking in through her living room window and see her dancing with her beloved Nutcracker.

As we step closer, we can see details such as the grandfather clock, Christmas tree, and back window.

We then come into the living and see the Christmas tree and loads of stacked gifts.

Then we realize that uncle Drosometer has secrets in store for us as well, a secret compartment for us to store our favorite keepsakes or perhaps a present for a loved one.

This hinged box is sure to be a keepsake to enjoy year after year and requires basic art supplies and following along with the detailed tutorial can be put together in a single afternoon.
