Fast & Fun Christmas Cards

By Donna Kauffman

“Hello Happy G45 Crafters!

Donna Kauffman from MiniBooksRMe here and I am so excited to share a fun new tutorial with you today! Holidays are fast approaching and if you’re like me, you swear you’re going to start your holiday cards early, but then somehow it’s November or even December (me, me. me!)  and you haven’t even started yet.

I’ve got just the solution! Join me in my video tutorial and learn how to make 12 fun, beautiful cards using items from Graphic 45’s gorgeous new Joy to the World  Christmas collection. And the best part? They are fast and easy to make. I promise!

I created twelve cards using four basic supplies: bulk pack of card & envelopes, Graphic 45’s Joy to the World  12×12 Patterns & Solids collection pad, one pack of Joy to the World  Ephemera Cards, and one set of the Joy to the World  Chipboard.

Add a second set of Joy to the World Chipboard to the supply list above, and you’ve got enough paper and ephemera cards left to get 24 cards done! Need more? Double the supply stash and bingo, 48 cards. (More? Grab one more set and you’ve got 96. I know!)

Handy Tip #1! Keep your scraps when cutting out your mats and use them to decorate your envelopes. I show you how in the video tutorial!

In this tutorial, you will make six A2 size cards (standard size cards) and six A7 cards (a little bit bigger.) The card foundation sizes are listed below, as are the layered mat sizes I used to decorate.

I created three A2 cards and three A7 cards, then created a duplicate set of the same six cards, substituting in the remaining cards and chipboard. I’ll show you how to plan ahead in the video!

Handy Tip #2: Keep a good papercrafting glue stick on hand, and one of those junk mail catalogs. An easy way to fully attach skinny, tiny pieces to your cards and envelopes with no fuss or muss. (They also come in handy during those late night craft sessions when you run out of your chosen paper adhesive!)

This tutorial will also come in handy for any type of cards. It’s not limited to holiday cards. You can recreate these same patterns and designs using any of Graphic 45’s fabulous collections.

Simply grab the same set of supplies — a pad of 12×12 Patterns & Solids, a pack of Ephemera Cards, and a set (or 2) of the Chipboard  –, which are available for all of their regular collections, and simply substitute them in place of the Joy to the World elements.

I show you in the video how to pair up the cards and chipboard in advance so you’re all set to go. Simply cut out the base mats and layered mats, and assemble!
