Slimline Envelope Mini Album Tutorial

by Teresa Cruz aka Andor Violeta

Today I’m showing you a mini album inspired by an old pre-made album from
@graphic45 , created using long horizontal envelopes.

I used the beautiful Scenic Route collection, whose vintage-inspired patterns and travel-themed elements work perfectly with this album style.

One of the things I love most about this design is how simple it is to assemble while still offering plenty of space for photos, journaling, and special memories. The envelope construction creates interactive pockets to add your journaling cards and memorabilia.

Whether you’re an experienced scrapbooker or just starting your creative journey, this project is a wonderful way to use your favorite patterned papers and embellishments. It can be adapted for travel memories, family photos, happy moments, or even as a thoughtful handmade gift.

If you enjoyed this project and would like to see the complete flip-through, be sure to follow along so you don’t miss the upcoming videos and tutorials.

Tip 1
: Use the patterns and solids to make the perfect contrast photo mats on your pages, it’s a great way to had intentional focal point to the place you want to add your photos later.

The ephemera die cuts are perfect for this kind of project when we can’t add too much bulk between the pages.

I hope you like this envelope mini album!! Enjoy the tutorial!!

Teresa’s Tips for Creating an Envelope Mini Album

Tip #1: Create Contrast with Patterns & Solids

Pair patterned papers with coordinating solids to create eye-catching photo mats and page layers. This simple design technique helps frame your photos beautifully while creating intentional focal points throughout your album.

Tip #2: Keep Embellishments Lightweight

When working with envelope albums, less bulk means smoother page movement. Ephemera die-cuts are the perfect embellishment choice because they add visual interest without creating excess thickness between pages.

Tip #3: Make the Most of Interactive Pockets

Envelope pockets are ideal for storing journaling cards, postcards, ticket stubs, notes, and other memorabilia. Adding removable inserts increases both functionality and storytelling opportunities within your album.

Tip #4: Let Your Theme Guide Your Design

The Scenic Route collection’s vintage travel motifs make it a natural choice for vacation memories and adventures, but this album structure can easily be adapted for family photos, seasonal celebrations, milestone events, or thoughtful handmade gifts.
