Imagine 12 x 12 Layout
“Create Your Own Dream”

By Annette Green

“With a daughter in her second year of art college, it’s all about discovery and dreams for the future. The phrases and uplifting sentiments in this beautiful new Imagine collection were perfect for a layout in honor of her. The fantastical imagery of hot air balloons, teapots with wings, and steampunk butterflies connect the phrase Create “Your Own Dream” to her artsy personality wonderfully.”

Tip: Fussy cutting doesn’t always have to be terribly fussy. Try cutting loosely around images for a different effect, like I did around the golden gears in the upper and lower left corners of this layout.

Tip: It’s fun to cut apart the gears from the new Regular Tag & Gears Metal Dies to make individual and clusters of gears.

Tip: Choose a dark colored cardstock for your layout’s base, then repeat the use of that same color for photo mats and accents for a dramatic and uniform look." ~Annette

Imagination Card

By Kathy Clement

“Clocks and Steampunk go together like peanut butter and jelly. So it was a natural choice to combine the Imagine Collection with the Graphic 45 Staples Square Tag and Clock Dies to make this fun Steampunk inspired card.

Since the Imagine Collection is also loaded with beautiful floral images, I decided to make my own flowers using the G45 Staples Large Tag, ATC Tag and Flowers Die.

Tip: Perfectly matched flowers are just a die cut away!  I used two different patterns from the Imagine Collection to die cut my flowers.  Each layer is spritzed with Antique Bronze Mica Spray, then shaped with a stylus and foam pad.  Little pearl buttons make great flower centers.

A few fussy cut butterflies and a few Prills are all I needed to add to make the card complete.

Tip: Did you know that you can use Decades Ink to custom dye seam binding ribbon?  Simply swipe the ink pad onto a non-porous surface (craft sheet, glass mat, or even a plastic packaging will work for this) and then mist lightly with water until little beads of ink form.  Dip and drag your white seam binding through the inky puddle. Let dry overnight, or gently dry with a heat tool to create custom dyed ribbon that will match your project perfecty. For this card, I used Decades Precious Pink.

I die cut the clock parts twice.  Once from bronze cardstock, and once using pink patterned paper from the collection.  Mounting the pink clock face on the bronze circle really made it pop!

Tip:  This sentiment title is matted on kraft cardstock.  To make it really POP, I fussy cut just the word label from a second image, popped it up on foam dots, then adhered it over the flat sentiment.

Tip: Adding a gift card pocket is easy!  I cut a rectangle of patterned paper to fit the inside of my card.  Then I used a circle punch in the center to create a thumb hole. Then, I glued just the bottom and sides to the card base and added an ephemera card.  You can easily slip a gift card or other small treat. Now the card is the gift!" ~Kathy
