#G45Featured: Beach Tags

Tutorial by Katelyn Spencer

“Hey Everyone!

I’m thrilled to be back on the blog this month sharing these beautiful Beach Tags perfect for adding notes to or decorating a gift. These tags feature The Beach is Calling Collection along with the Square Ivory Tags.

Read below as I share with you how I created these beautiful Beach Tags at home.

To start, we’ll create the Beach House Tag.

From The Beach is Calling paper, fussy cut the beach houses out. Sand the edges of the houses.

Next, you’ll need the Enjoy the Waves paper. Cut out a postage stamp from the border. Cut the every seashell border strip down to 3 ⅝”. Cut the seashell border strip down to 4”. Sand the edges of all the pieces.

Fussy cut two shells from the Every Seashell has a Story paper. Sand the edges of each seashell.

Choose a bathing suit from the Take a Dip paper and fussy cut it out. Sand the edges of the bathing suit.

Fussy cut the surfboard, seashell cluster and two starfish from the Sandy Toes & Sunkissed Nose paper. Sand the edges of all of the images.

Fussy cut two starfish from the Dive Right In paper. Sand the edges of the starfish.

Choose a couple of rubons from The Beach is Calling Rubon Transfer Set. Cut one of the rubons and rub the two pieces one on the top and one on the bottom of the tag as desired. Cut a second rubon off the sheet and slightly layer it on the rubon that is currently on the bottom portion of the tag.

Adhere the seashell border strip 1 ⅜” from the bottom and ⅜” from the left of the tag. Adhere the Every Seashell border strip 1” from the bottom and ½” from the left of the tag. Adhere the surf board ⅛” from the left and ¼” from the top of the tag on an angle. Adhere the bathing suit ⅝” from the top and all the way to the left of the tag on an angle. Adhere one of the seashells 1 ½” from the top and all the way to the left of the tag on an angle. Adhere the postage stamp ¾” from the top and ½” from the left of the tag on an angle. Roll the top left corner down of the postage stamp.

Foam square the houses 1 ¼” from the bottom and ½” from the left of the tag.

Adhere the remaining seashell and the three of the starfishes to the bottom left of the beach houses as desired.

In amongst the two beach houses, adhere the cluster of seashells and the remaining starish as desired.

Using a paintbrush, splatter Sand Gloss Spray Stain on the tag as desired. Once the spray stain has dried, tie a piece of cream twine through the hole at the top of the tag.

Now we’ll move on to the 3 cent tag.

Fussy cut the postage stamp out of the Hightide Good Vibes paper. Sand the edges of the postage stamp.

Fussy cut a shell cluster and a single seashell out of the Every Seashell has a Story paper. Sand the edges of the seashells.

Cut out two postage stamps from the Enjoy the Waves paper. From the same paper, cut the Sleep Eat border strip down to 4”. Cut the seashell border strip down to 3 ¾”. Sand the edges of the stamps and border strips.

Fussy cut the beach houses and two starfish from the Dive Right In paper. Sand the edges of all of the images.

Choose two bathing suits from the Take a Dip paper and fussy cut it out. Sand the edges of the bathing suits.

Fussy cut the surfboard, blue beach house, cream beach house, two beach houses together and two starfish from the Sandy Toes & Sunkissed Nose paper. Sand the edges of all of the images.

Out of The Beach if Calling Ephemera Assortment, you’ll need the starfish scallop circle. Sand the edges of the scallop.

Choose a couple of rubons from The Beach is Calling Rubon Transfer Set. Cut one of the rubons and rub the two pieces one on the top left side and one on the bottom of the tag as desired. Cut a second rubon off the sheet and rub it on the top right side of the tag.

Adhere one of the seashells 1” from the left and ⅝” from the top of the tag.

Adhere the single cream beach house ¼” from the right and 1 ⅛” from the top of the tag. Adhere a small starfish to the left of the cream beach house. Adhere the starfish scallop circle ¼” from the right and 1 ⅝” from the top of the tag. Adhere one of the postage stamps ¼” from the right and 2 ¼” from the top of the tag on an angle. Roll the top right corner down on the stamp. Adhere the seashell bunch ⅝” from the right and 1 ⅛” from the top of the tag. Adhere one of the bathing suits ⅞” from the right and 1 ⅞” from the top of the tag.

Adhere the seashell border strip ⅜” from the right and 2 ⅞” from the top of the tag. Adhere the Sleep Eat border strip ¼” from the right and ⅝” from the bottom of the tag.

Adhere the two beach houses 1 ¼” from the top and all the way to the left of the tag. Adhere the other postage stamp 1 ¾” from the top and ¼” from the left on an angle. Roll the top left corner down on the stamp. Adhere the other bathing suit 1 ⅞” from the top and all the way to the left side of the tag on an angle.

Adhere the large postage stamp 1 ¼” from the right and 1” from the top of the tag. Roll the top right corner down on the stamp. Adhere the surf board to the left side of the large postage stamp. Use foam squares to adhere the two beach houses ⅜” from the left and ⅞” from the bottom of the tag. Use adhesive and foam squares to adhere the blue beach house to the right of the two beach houses.

Adhere one starfish in between the cream and blue beach houses. Adhere the other starfish to the left of the other cream beach house.

Using a paintbrush, splatter Sand Gloss Spray Stain on the tag as desired. Once the spray stain has dried, tie a piece of cream twine through the hole at the top of the tag.
