Leveled Up Board Book, Trinket Box, and Notebook
Featuring Couture
By Jenn DuBell
“Hello Everyone!
Today I have a walkthrough of my #G45leveledup project to share with you. For my project I have chosen Club G45 2021 Vol. 9 by Annette Green.
These leveled up projects are always fun and this one would make a great gift as well! For mine I have used the Couture Deluxe Collector’s Edition as well as the 8×8. My version has the same measurements as the original for the board book and I added a couple fun pocket elements as well. I have included a tutorial on how the pockets were made at the end of my walkthrough video. The biggest change I made was using my Cinch machine rather than ribbon. I also added some glitter cardstock that works so well with the Couture collection.
Once all of my cupboard pages were cut I decorated using the Couture collection as follows:
(These are listed from the first small page to the large last page)
As stated in the original instructions: when adhering the papers with ribbon tabs, be sure to leave the right edge (about 1”) free of adhesive. This will be done on all but the last page and the small first page. Remember if you rounded your chipboard corners, be sure to round your papers as well.

Cut 2 @ 4 ¾”X3 ½” Front – 8” Fabulous(A) Back – 8” Gorgeous(A)
As shown in my walkthrough I added a simple picture corner to the back that I made from black scrap cardstock.
For the front a vine was cut using glitter cardstock and G45 Die
Front- Black chipboard 3”X3 ⅜”
Matte- Glitter Cardstock 2 ⅞”X3 ¼”
Trimmed cut apart from 12” Beautiful(A)

This is the first page that I added a matte using glitter cardstock on the front. This measures 4 ¼”X6 ¼”
Front-4”X6” 12” Style(B) Fussy Cut Rose from 12” Gorgeous(A) Lady Fussy Cut From 8” Stunning(A) Photo matte insert – black cardstock 3 ¼”X4 ¾” with rounded corners and embellished with 3”X4 ½” 8” Stunning(B)
Back – 4 ½”X6 ¼” 12” Chic(A)
Black cardstock circle and sticker from collection. This is adhered on the bottom portion only to create a tuck spot element.

Cut 2 @ 5 ¾”X 4 ¾” 8” Lovely Side A for front Side B for back
Front- I added a strip of glitter cardstock as a belly band that a journal card fits in. I used a journaling card from Vintage Hollywood for mine and added a fussy cut stamp from Couture. A vine using the G45 die was cut from the glitter cardstock and adhered on the top and bottom only to create a nice little tuck spot for the card insert.
Back -3 ¾”X3 ¾” 12”Gorgeous(A) followed by black cardstock 3 ¼”X3 ¼”. A cut out from 12” Couture(A) adhered only on the bottom to create a tuck spot element for a photo. All corners were rounded.
Page 4-
This is my second glitter matted page. The matte measures 6 ¾”X7 ¼”.
6 ½”X7” 12” Fashion(A). I added A die cut embellishment to the top right corner and a fixed matted cut apart. The black matte is 3 ⅜”X5 ⅜” and the cut apart is taken from 12” Elegant(B) cut to 3 ⅛”X5 ⅛”.
For the back- 6 ¾”X 7 ¼” 12” Classy (B). I cut another cut apart from the same sheet above Side A this time. I cut it as seen in the picture above to make a frame with the flowers fussy cut and then used the cut out portion off to the side. The frame has chipboard under the two sides and bottom to allow a photo to be inserted. Black cardstock was placed underneath this unit.
In between Pages 5 and 6 I added a fun pocket element which I show how to create in my video.
For this pocket I used 8” Couture A side on the front. The backside was also embellished.
For this I used some fussy cut stamps from both sizes of Classy(A) as well as a cut apart from 12” Beautiful(A) to create a tuck spot. The top was embellished with one of the stickers.
Page 5-
Front – 5 ½”X 8 ¾” 12” Stunning(B)
For this page I added a cut apart from 12” Elegant(B) matted with 4 ⅛”X6 ⅛” glitter cardstock. A die cut scalloped circles in black cardstock and the glitter cardstock were used to matte a sticker and by gluing the black circle only at the bottom I created a fun little tuck spot element.
Back- 5 ½”X 8 ¾” 12” Accessorize(A)
For this page I created two fun library style pockets which I have a tutorial in my video for. The pockets were embellished using 12” Accessorize(B) and 8” Fabulous(B) as well as stickers and a border strip from my leftovers.
Page 6-
This is the last page that has a glitter matte which measures 7 ¾”X 5 ¾”. This was left as is because I just love all of the images here!Cut 7 ¼”X 5 ¼” 12” Classy(A).
For the back cut 7 ¾”X5 ¾” 8” Style(B). The tuck pocket was created using the leftover portion of the 8” Couture(A). This is glued only on the sides and across the bottom. A cut apart from 12” Beautiful(A) was adhered just to the pocket followed by a chipboard button which I threaded with black string and tied in a bow.
Inside the little tuck pocket I added a card that I made from leftover papers, cut apart and a black G45 card base.
Page 7-
Cut 1 8 ¼”X 9 ¼” 12” Accessorize(B). I have created a pocket as an embellishment for this page using glitter cardstock and a portion of the 12” Beautiful(A) 6 ¼”X7 ⅛”
Glitter Matte – 6 ¾”X7 ¾”
Adhere with pocket facing right by gluing only top, bottom and left side of the unit to the page. I added a Photo matte with ribbon tab as well. This measures 5 ½”X6 ¾” and was cut from heavy ivory cardstock. The front was embellished with 8” Chic(A) 5 ¼”X6 ½” and the back with 12” Fabulous(B) 5 ¼”X6 ½”. The ribbon tab pull is adhered under the front paper.
For the treat box, I changed mine to a trinket box and changed the size from 6” tall to 4”. The Couture papers used here are the 8” Fashion side A for panels and 8” side B for the corners. The bottom and top striped pieces are cut from the 12” Accessorize side B.Photogenic Blacktrim Chevron was used for my pull.
As seen below, I cut my panels all from the same sheet and placed them so the scene continues around as one. With the exception of the height, I cut and assembled my box in the same way as the original project.
*note your paper will also be cut shorter
Panels – 4@ 3”X4”
Corner Strips – 4@ ¾”X4”
When I was finished creating the book and trinket box I wanted to use some of my leftovers so I created a fun little notebook/journal using the scraps and my cinch along with some solid cardstock and some sheets from older G45 6” pads I had. Be sure to watch my walkthrough to see this fun little add on!”
