Life if Beautiful Canvas
By Janus Zate

Hello G45ers! I’m Janus Zate from the Philippines. I’m very excited about being a part of Graphic 45’s Brand Ambassadors for 2020-2021 alongside such a talented group of people.

Let me share with you a bit about myself. My design and crafting life started off in high school. I’ve been making random scrapbooks at that age but I was never as dedicated – *cough* addicted *cough* as I am now.

I am a freelance artist by profession working on both digital platforms and traditional medium.

My crafting style often leans towards vintage, shabby chic, and florals. Graphic 45 has been able to let me explore that style in a more diverse approach with their paper designs.

Today I’m showing you a mixed media layout using Graphic 45 Botanical Tea collection. I love using various materials on my designs [because we all hoard and we have to justify that! *laughs*]. I also love adding watercolour to my works because it adds my own personality to the project.

Craft Tip: If you are going for plain backgrounds with watercolor washes, use colours that are in the same palette as the collection you are using to make it look more cohesive.

Craft Tip: When working with a layout with a single focal point (one particular subject, ie. photo or in my project’s case, the shaker) position in slightly off-center. It makes the entire composition more aesthetically pleasing for the viewer
