Mon Amour Love Notes Album
By Sandy Trefger
“February is the month of LOVE! And what better gift to give someone you love than a “Love Notes” album. This is not a traditional album with lots of pages for photos but rather an album with accordion pockets for love notes and tags for your photos plus a mini waterfall section for those smaller images you print up from your smartphone. You could even put coupons inside the pockets that are created from the Graphic 45 Square Policy Envelopes. This is very easy to create. I did not do a tutorial on it but hopefully, by looking at my photos you can see how easy it would be to put together.
The cover and spines of the album are made from cardstock that you score to hold the policy envelopes and to create a flap for the closure. When I open it up, you can see the small waterfall section on the left. The policy envelopes are in the right section of the album.
The envelopes do not open up as pages but are attached together in the center of each one to create an accordion type section to hold your love notes and the tags for photos. You only put adhesive down the middle of each envelope and attach it to the next one. For this project, I did cut off the closure flaps of each policy envelope to create open pockets.
Graphic 45 Supplies:
- Mon Amour 12×12 Paper Collection
- Mon Amour Tags and Pockets
- Square Policy Envelopes – Black
- Mon Amour Chipboard 2
- Square Tag Album – Black
- Ornate Metal Keys
- Ornate Metal Keyholes
- Stamped Metal Brads
Other Supplies:
- 49 & Market Flowers in Pink & Ivory
- Pink Button Twine
- Ivory Seam Binding Ribbon
- Ivory Artisan Cardstock
- Black & Ivory Ribbon
Tip: To create a cover for an accordion type album such as this one, first attach all your envelopes together by only applying adhesive to the center of each envelope. Then place your envelope set onto your cardstock to get the measurement you will need to create the cover and your score lines. You may need to piece two sections of cardstock together to make it long enough to include a flap. Once you have your scored cover, attach the set of attached envelopes to the cover by applying adhesive to the center only of the outside of the first envelope and the last one.
Each flap in the waterfall section will hold small photos. Create a closure flap by adding a magnet to the back of the flap and the bottom of the top waterfall flap.
Fun Fact: I received the small Google Home for Christmas and I keep it in my craft room as I love to use it to listen to my Pandora radio stations as I craft. I can simply say “Hey Google, turn on music” to get it started and then I can say music down, music up, change stations, play Beatles etc. and all hands-free while I’m crafting!
I hope you enjoy this Love Notes Album and will have a try at creating a pocket accordion type album.
Happy Crafting!” ~Sandy Trefger

Adore Layout

"I went ultra girly with this page filled with flowers, pockets and tags. I cut a circle in the center of the black script page and adhered it to a pink patterned base using pieces of cardboard. I added lace under the top layer and a circle of pearls to the top to accentuate the shape of the circle. I matted the photo on cardboard to create space below the photo for flowers and embellishments.
Tip: Create a gallery wall using layered scrapbook pages. This gets your favorite pages out of your scrapbook and into full view." ~Robin
