Triple Diamond Floating Card

Tutorial by Crafter Sabaa

“If there’s one thing I absolutely adore about the festive season, it’s the chance to create something whimsical, dimensional, and full of Christmas charm. And this time, I’m so excited to share one of my newest creations — a Triple Diamond Floating Card made using the stunning Deck the Halls collection from Graphic 45.

This project stole my heart the moment I started assembling it. The combination of traditional Christmas colors, cozy winter patterns, and charming illustrations (especially that adorable nutcracker!) made the entire crafting experience pure joy.

Hi everyone! I am Crafter Sabaa, I welcome you to my beautiful world of creativity.

A Closer Look at the Design

The triple diamond structure is such a showstopper! It stands beautifully on its own, instantly drawing attention with its unique geometric shape.

Every panel is dressed in rich, festive patterns — sweet plaids, winter florals, poinsettias, pinecones, and classic Graphic 45 elegance. The center diamond features a bold nutcracker figure surrounded by layers of fussy-cut elements, delicate lace textures, and little wintery accents that bring depth and dimension to the card.

I especially love how the diamonds appear to “float,” giving the entire card a 3D effect without using complicated mechanisms. It’s definitely one of those designs that look intricate but are surprisingly fun and achievable once you get the hang of the folds.

Crafter Tips for Success

  • Use strong cardstock for the base to help your diamonds stand and “float” beautifully.

  • Dry fit your panels before adhering to ensure perfect alignment.

  • Mix patterns thoughtfully—balance bold plaids with softer florals for visual harmony.

  • Foam tape selectively to add dimension without overpowering the fold structure.

  • Fussy-cut focal elements (like nutcrackers and poinsettias) to enhance the storytelling feel.

  • Want extra shine? Golden mirror cardstock adds a magical festive touch.

Pro Tip:
Once you master the fold, this design is easy to recreate for birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, and more!

Crafter Sabaa has filmed a complete step-by-step video tutorial guiding you through the entire process—from building the base to decorating your card like a pro. Craft along at your own pace and enjoy the magic as your card pops open into a festive, dimensional display.
