Hailing from the sunny shores of the USA, Nikki has been making waves in the scrapbooking world for nearly 20 years. With a knack for turning paper into magic, she’s known for her delightful mini albums, charming cards, eye-catching layouts, and captivating home decor pieces.
For her first project with us, Nikki has dived into our vibrant The Beach is Calling paper collection to create a set of stunning beach-themed tags that are sure to make a splash in your summer décor. From sparkling silver glitter to layered ephemera, Nikki’s tags are a feast for the eyes and a testament to her creative flair.

Meet Nikki Sher from Crafty Creations by Nikki
Nikki has been scrapbooking for almost 20 years. She has worked and managed several local scrapbooking stores and has been teaching since 2008. Her favorite things to teach are mini albums, cards, layouts, mixed media techniques and home decor pieces. Most recently, Nikki has been working with several companies creating folios, kits and more as well as working on other design teams! She is beyond thrilled to be joining the Graphic 45 Brand Ambassador Team! Nikki is currently teaching at local Bay Area stores and from her home. “Hello Graphic 45 Friends!
My name is Nikki Sher, from Crafty Creations by Nikki, and I’m here today to share my first blog post with you as an official Graphic 45 Brand Ambassador. To say I am thrilled is an understatement!
For my first project, I wanted to show you a little something about my style and how I like to create. I always start with what inspires me in that moment. And with it being summertime, the Graphic 45 The Beach is Calling Collection was screaming my name.
I decided that I wanted to create some home décor pieces to have out this summer. So I grabbed a pile of my #8 office tags and got to work. Next, I chose what patterned paper I wanted to use, cut the tag fronts and started mixing and matching. I always like to have a little sparkle so adding in that thin layer of silver glitter paper was a must!
Once all my tag papers were set, I started building up the layers with foam tape. Dimension is very important to me when I create. I think adding in that extra layer (or two or three) can really make your project come to life. After that, it was time to embellish!
I loved the “Sun, Sand and Surf” words from the Ephemera Assortment and knew I had to use them as focal points for three of the tags. I chose additional ephemera pieces that I felt best represented each word accordingly (for example, surf board for “Surf”, sandcastle for “Sand”, etc.) and began once again building my layers.
Once all my ephemera pieces were in place, I was able to place my finishing touches of pearls, tulle and charms! (Pro Tip: If you are having trouble getting your charm to lay flat, try attaching it to your ribbon with another jump ring. This way it will always lay how you want!). I think they turned out perfect! I can’t wait to display them – maybe in a stacked tray or my mantle. What do you think?
