Kavitha – India

2020-2021 Brand Ambassador

“Hello, Graphic 45 fans,

I am Kavitha from Chennai, India. I am super excited and honored to be a part of the wonderful and creative Graphic 45 family for another year. I love creating and the creative process of bringing ideas to life. Crafting has been my main hobby since childhood and I feel blessed to have my hobby as a profession now.

My niche is coloring and painting though I love to explore different forms of arts and crafts. Being in India which is rich in different forms of arts and culture I have plenty of options still to explore. Currently, I am more into making albums and cards and I love making layered/detailed projects. I have to confess I am a huge paper hoarder, especially graphic 45 papers are my favorite and I have been collecting them for the past five years. I am so happy to be back again, thank you, Graphic45 family, for the trust. I can’t wait to share my projects and ideas with you all.

Matchbox with Mini Album – #G45Selfie

By Kavitha

For my selfie project, I created a matchbox mini album using the stunning Ocean Blue collection. I love making albums in different shapes and sizes, when I found this matchbox from Graphic 45 in my stash I decided to alter it and make a tiny mini-album to fit in. The album is made in ticket shape to hold some travel/vacation pictures.

Cut some strips of pattern paper to decorate the top of the box.  Cut the longer stripes at an angle to give a neat finish.

Decorate all sides of the lid and the box except the sides of the box and the inside of the lid so that the box can slide in easily. Take a flat brush and apply gesso(very little) to the edges of the box and lid to give a shabby look.

The album measures 2 ½ by 4 ½ inches. Take a cardstock measuring 2 ½ by 9 ½ inches and score at  4 ½ and 9 inches on the long side. You will need two pieces of these plus a cardstock measuring 2 ½ by 4 ½ inches. Stick all the pieces together, you will have five panels in total.

Using a corner punch, cut all the corners to get the ticket shape. If you don’t have a corner punch, use a circle punch.

Cut pattern paper measuring 2 ⅜ by 4 ⅜ inches, cut the edges with a corner punch and stick them to the panels.

To decorate the album you will need some fussy cut elements from 8*8 paper pack, sticker sheet, die cuts, scrap pieces of pattern paper and chipboard embellishments

To decorate the cover page, add a scrap piece of pattern paper, some fussy cut elements, and cut a parts from 8*8 paper pack. Add foam tape to the frame die-cut and stick it on top

On top of the frame use a sentiment from the die-cut pack and add some wooden embellishments.

Decorate each page with embellishments. I used scrap pieces of pattern papers measuring 2 by 3 inches as a photo mat in a few pages.

Some pages are decorated with layers of die cuts, stickers, and wooden embellishments.
