“Hi crafty friends. It’s Kristine and I’m happy to be on the Graphic 45 blog today to share my latest brand ambassador project with all of you. I have been so excited to see which retired collections Graphic 45 has decided to bring back as a Keepsake Kit each quarter. The Botanical Tea collection is a truly classic collection and I couldn’t wait to work with it. For my project, I will be showing you how I made the six teabag shaped loaded tags I made to fit inside my wooden teapot. These tags can be embellished in so many ways, and you can tuck lots of ephemera into them. In my tutorial, I’ll show you how to make the base tags and also how I decorated mine as inspiration for your own project.Graphic 45 Supply List
- Botanical Tea Keepsake Kit
- Graphic 45 Metal Policy & Decorative Dies
- Graphic 45 Metal Large Tag, ATC Tag, & Flower Dies
Other Supplies
- Scoring board/scoring tool
- Thread and a needle
- 6 small brads
- Glue
- Scissors
- Bone folder
- Pencil
Once the teabag tag base is scored, folded, and glued, it’s time to add the policy closure and the thread to the top. I loved the added sticker to the end of the thread to make it look like the label on a real teabag.
I knew I had to keep the outside of my teabag tags as flat as possible so they would still fit inside the space in my wooden teapot. The ephemera assortment that comes with the Botanical Tea Keepsake Kit was perfect for embellishing my project without adding a lot of bulk.
For the inside of my teabag tags, I decided to add a journaling card using the cards on the border sheet of decorative paper. Additionally, I used the cutoff pieces from my tag bases to create tags. I wanted the tags to still be functional for photos or journaling so I opted to add a fussy cut rose to the bottom of the tag fronts while leaving the back sides plain.
For smaller size tags, I used my ATC metal die with stickers as tag toppers to cover the holes in the tags. The front of the ATC tags are decorated using stickers or pieces from the Ephemera Assortment.
I hope you will check out the full tutorial to see how these colorful teabag loaded tags were created. In the video, I will create one full teabag tag and then I’ll show each of the 5 other finished teabag tags and explain how each of the pieces were made. So go ahead and grab your craft supplies and join me in the tutorial! Happy crafting! ~Kristine

Papercrafting Tips from the G45 Studio
-
Score before you fold: Use a scoring board and bone folder for perfectly crisp, clean edges every time.
-
Go light on the glue: A thin layer is all you need — too much can warp your paper!
-
Layer with purpose: Mix flat ephemera and small brads for texture without bulk.
-
Make it yours: Swap out papers or embellishments to fit your own color palette or occasion.
-
Save your scraps: Those small cutoffs make perfect accents, tabs, or mini journaling cards.
