Hello, G45ers!
Looking to add some serenity to your life? Try this Blossom Mixed Media Layout Tutorial where returning Graphic 45 Brand Ambassador, Janus Zate teaches how to pick a color palette and let it guide you through your creative process. This project has been inspired by our #G45Selfie – June Challenge. This month we have asked you and all of our new 2021-2022 G45 Brand Ambassadors to create a project that describes you as an artist using Graphic 45 product. We hope you learn a few tips and techniques from the video tutorial that you can’t wait to try out yourself.
Janus Zate – Philippines
2021-2022 Graphic 45 Brand Ambassador
“Janus, aka “The Erudite Artist”, is a mixed media artist, art journaler and watercolorist from the Philippines. She works as a freelance artist while also being a full-time stay-at-home mom.
This hobby of hers started out when she was going through postpartum depression and was looking for an outlet to channel her emotions, and to find herself again. She loves the positivity that journaling and crafting has been able to provide in her life. Sharing them online made it an even better experience. She got to meet like-minded individuals and got to both inspire and be inspired by each and every one she has [virtually] met.

Serenity Layout
By Janus Zate
Hello G45ers! This is Janus and I’m here to share with you my #G45Selfie. I made this mixed media layout using the Blossom collection. I’m very excited to be a part of Graphic 45’s Brand Ambassadors for 2021-2022.
Let me share with you a bit about myself. I am creative designer by profession working on both digital platforms and traditional medium. I have small online stationery shop where I sell stickers and wash tapes that I personally designed.
My crafting style often leans towards vintage, shabby chic and florals. I love that Graphic 45 has been able help me expand and challenge my art style with their papers and other products.
In this project I chose a dominating cool color as my motif. It helps whenever I choose a color temperature to focus on wherever I start a project.
Tip: Soften up loud colors with a very light coat of white gesso, it helps mute down the colors while still keeping the pattern/design visible and give it a more rustic vibe.
I used the entire pack of the Voyage and French Blue Rose Bouquet Collection for this project as I love using flowers on my projects. They give it that soft, feminine touch to it.
Layering has always been one of my favourite things to do with my projects so it’s never not fun whenever I do it.
You can watch the full process over at my Youtube Channel.
