Hello, G45ers!

Just when you thought you couldn’t love Slimline Cards more, Graphic 45 Brand Ambassador, Cecilia Zertuche goes ahead and tops the trend by adding a matching Slimline Box to go with the card.  This pair highlight our Fruit & Flora paper collection and are filled with fabulous mixed media techniques, fussy cutting and dimension.  Be sure to take notes and let the video tutorial inspire your next project.

Slimline Card & Box

By Cecilia Zertuche

“Hello G45ers!

Cecilia here, sharing with you a card in a box, but this time we will add some mixed media techniques, especially in the box. You’ll see how pretty it is going to be.

For this project, I used the following products.

Graphic 45 Supply List:

Fruit & Flora patterns & solids.

Fruit & Flora 8” x 8” paper pad.

Fruit & Flora die cut assortments.

Folder & sentiments die.

Rose bouquet collection: Precious pink.

Matte pearl gems.

Other Supplies:

Creative expressions craft dies by Sue Wilson “Striplets-Lattice window”.

Prima marketing, soft matte gel, 6” x 6” stencil: woven, and vintage gold metallique wax.

Stampendous, chunky metallic Seasonings embossing enamel.

Ranger embossing powder: Snowflake tinsel.

Lindy’s stamp gang embossing powder: Midnight bronze.

Tip:  When you use a stencil, it is easier if you start on top and then follow to the bottom of the surface, and hold the stencil with one hand, taking care it doesn’t mess the past added on top, and with the other hand add the rest of the paste with a palette knife.

Tip:  Find your focal point when you design your collage, and after that add elements around it, following a line or just around it, but before you glue all the elements, play with them, try different collages, until you like one the most.

Tip: If the paper has to many elements (florals in this case) I like to use some geometric die cut to find a balance

Tip:  You can shape the fussy cut flowers with a brush or your finger, they will look prettiest!

And of course, use leftover chipboard pieces to get more volume and separate the layers

ONE TRICK: If you add glue on the acetate in one place by mistake, remove it with a cotton tip with alcohol, really handy!
