Season's Greetings Envelope
By Katelyn Grosart
“I'am totally in love with the Winter Wonderland Collection and I can't seem to stop creating with it! With adding fussy cut images and patterned paper to the front of a regular policy envelope, I was able to transform it into a beautiful piece that could be given to someone at Christmas, or you could keep it and add it to your Christmas decorations. There are so many different possibilities when creating with this beautiful collection.” ~Katelyn Grosart

Country Christmas Shaker Card
By Sandy Trefger
"There’s just something about a wintry snow scene with red buildings and birds that sets your mind to Christmas no matter what time of the year it is. The beautiful images of the Winter Wonderland collection inspired me to create this Country Christmas Shaker card. The designs of the papers are perfect for lots of layering to add depth to the card. A gentle shake of the card reveals bits of sparkly “snow” within the scene. This is the perfect card design to create on a hot summer day. Happy Crafting" ~ Sandy Trefger
Tip:
To create a frame for the shaker portion of your card, rather than using foam tape that your beads or shaker bits stick to, cut several layers of your frame out of cardstock. I used 6-8 layers for my card. Glue each frame together to create a thicker frame to provide some lift to the shaker portion. Attach your acrylic piece to the top of the thick frame and then add one frame on top that you cut out of patterned paper. Fill your frame with seed beads or sequins and then attach a solid patterned paper piece onto the back to seal it all in. Attach the assembled shaker piece onto your card layers. The extra thickness gives room for your shaker bits to move around and since you did not use foam on the edges, they do not stick to the sides.
Fun Facts
-
The hot summer days make it hard for me to want to create a Christmas project, so I listen to at least one favorite Christmas carol when I pull out all my wintry supplies just to put me in the mood.
-
I keep all my “Christmasy” bits and pieces, ribbon, trim, floral picks etc. in one tote so I can find just the right thing to finish off a project.
