4 Cards with Fun Folds using Fairy Boutique
Tutorial by Paul Ford
Hello everyone. It’s Paul back again and this time with some fun fold cards for you. I have had requests for more card ideas and so that is what I went for. I have created 4 different fun fold cards that all fit into 5×7 envelopes. This way you can make a variety of cards without needing a variety of envelopes. I like my cards to have a twist so each has a fun fold. They have also been designed around the Journal cards that come in the 12×12 collections. So you can use any collection to recreate these. Hope you enjoy.” ~Paul

Tips for Success
• Start with strong cardstock:
Interactive cards need a sturdy base. Use a high-quality 65–80 lb cardstock so your folds open and close smoothly.
• Pre-score for crisp folds:
Use a scoring board for perfectly straight, clean fold lines—this keeps your card looking polished and professional.
• Try the Journal Cards!
Paul designed each fun fold around the 12×12 Journal Cards. These are a fantastic shortcut for layering, sentiments, and focal images.
• Mix and match collections:
While Paul uses Fairy Boutique, these card structures work beautifully with any Graphic 45 line—try them with Blossom, Let’s Get Artsy, or Deluxe Collector’s Editions.
• Decorate after assembly:
Build the folded structure first, then add papers and embellishments. This prevents cracking, shifting, or misalignment.
• Save your templates:
Once you’ve made each of the four folds, keep the measurements handy—you’ll want to use them again and again!
