Typography Memory Keeping Journal Spread
By Janus Zate
“The Typography Keepsake Edition is one of the designs that made me love Graphic 45. The classic vintage look, the beautiful typeset, the play on letters, art and design. It is absolutely on brand!
That’s probably why it was hard for me to use it. I literally wanted to have it for keepsake. But I did promise myself to use every single item that I have, because let’s face it, we do this with every single collection that we have and we end up with a whole lot of unused papers in storage. The beauty of these papers seemed to be a waste if they were not used to express our own crafts.

Nowadays, I think of it as using the papers to commemorate my admiration for them and incorporating my most treasured moments. This mindset made me appreciate what I make, and it saves me from being an absolute hoarder.

I made this memory keeping spread to preserve a fun little get together we had for one of our journaling communities here in Manila.

Tip: Make the most out of your scrapbook papers! The beauty of them will remain and will not diminish just because you used them. In fact, they become 10 times more captivating adding your own arts and crafts expression to them. ” ~Janus Zate

Tips for Creating a Meaningful Memory Keeping Spread
- Use the papers you love most. Beautiful scrapbook papers become even more valuable when they hold your memories, photos, and creative expression. Don’t save them for “someday” — make them part of your story today.
- Layer for dimension. Combine ephemera, cardstock stickers, stamps, and stenciling to create depth and visual interest across your journal spread.
- Mix textures and mediums. Chalk paint, ink, watercolor, and stamping can add softness, vintage charm, and artistic personality to your pages.
- Tell a story with your photos. A simple gathering, special event, or everyday moment can become meaningful when preserved through creative journaling and memory keeping.
- Embrace imperfection. Journal spreads are meant to feel personal and expressive. Handwritten notes, uneven layers, and artistic details all add charm and authenticity.
