Grimmerie Wizard of Oz Mini Album
Tutorial By Janus Zate
“I’ve always been fascinated by the story of Dorothy and the Wizard of Oz, and of course the iconic story of the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good, especially since the release of the movies. And when I saw Graphic 45’s Wonder of Oz collection, I just knew I had to do an homage, so I made the album shape inspired by the Grimmerie. I’m so happy it turned out so well!

The pages are designed to give a nod to the yellow brick road, hence putting brick textures and spraying yellow mica powders to give that subtle tone.

And while I love the album’s cover that I made, I couldn’t help but add a bit of frills and flair. I made a detachable design to go along with the album. It allows me to appreciate the simplicity of the album on its own and still have my own style included on it when I choose to.

Tip: Don’t be afraid to try anything! Even if it feels overwhelming, but you have that aching feeling of wanting to make something happen, just make it. It might not turn out the way you want it, or you find certain imperfections in what you’ve made, but learning through what you’ve made is an amazing way to grow as a crafter.” ~Janus
