You & Me Sun Kissed Layout

By Sandy Trefger

"When I flipped through the beautiful papers of the new Graphic 45 Sun Kissed collection, I knew I’d seen the perfect photo for a layout.  I printed up this lovely image (with permission) of my Great-great niece Miss Z and her Mom. This photo was taken on one of the beaches at the Gulf Coast of Mexico in Texas.  The sunlight in the image was perfect for this “You & Me Sun Kissed” 12×12 layout. The images of this collection are so wonderful to fussy cut out and to layer while designing the perfect background for a special beach image.

While creating this layout, I envisioned sparkles and sprinkles in with the photo.  I created a shaker type frame with a clear acrylic sheet and added bits and pieces of some fun beads that perfectly matched the colors of the paper collection.

Graphic 45 Supplies:

  • 12 x 12 Sun Kissed Paper Collection

Other Supplies:

  • Blue Seam Binding Ribbon
  • Rope Twine (from the hardware store)
  • Clear Nuvo Glitter Pen
  • Bits of fish netting (washed and aged)
  • Sea Shells
  • Beads (for inside the shaker frame)
  • Natural Cardstock
  • Ivory Cardstock
  • Clear Acrylic Sheet

Tip:  Cut around each image you wish to fussy cut to create a smaller area to work with and then fine tune your cutting by trimming right up next to the edge of the image.  However in this collection, there is a defined white line/area around each image and you can choose, as I did, to leave the white border. This is perfect for those of you who are afraid to fussy cut as it gives you a clear idea of where you can cut.  If you’ve never done fussy cutting for your projects, this collection is a wonderful one to start with.

Fun Fact:  Even though I only lived about 6 hours from the Gulf of Mexico in Texas, I had never been until I met my husband.  He grew up in Florida by the Atlantic Ocean and the Gulf and loved to fish and enjoy the ocean breezes. He was amazed that I’d never been to the “ocean” so one of our first trips was to Galveston over 40 years ago.  We still take a trip down to the coast at least once a year. Sometimes to Galveston and often to Matagorda one of our favorite places. And yes, I’ve now been to both the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans.

This collection is so beautiful and inspiring.  I can see many projects in my mind that I hope to create and I hope that you will love creating with it too.

Happy Crafting!"

Sun Kissed Tag Album

By Sandy Trefger

“One of my favorite projects to create as a gift is the Tag Album. These are so easy to put together and quick too!  You don’t need a lot of paper to make one, especially if you use the Graphic 45 Regular Tags. In a package you get 6 tags and one ring to attach them together.  The kraft tags make me think of the beach, and pairing them with the new Sun Kissed collection seemed natural. This collection, of course, inspired me to do a bit of fussy cutting for some simple decorating of the pages and photo mats.
