Imagination Travel Journal

By Marilyn Rivera

“Hello everyone! It’s Marilyn here to share with you a travel journal that I made using the folder template that comes in the paper pad from the beautiful Imagine collection. I like to incorporate the templates on my project but it was a real challenge for me because I had to make a one minute tutorial but I tried to keep it simple, let’s take a look…

I used the Imagine 12 x 12 Pattern & Solids pad to make the structure of the travel journaling and in the back cover  you find some templates, I used the folder pattern. You can watch all the process in the short video at the end of this post.  My daughter is studying art at college, she’s always drawing and it will be perfect for her.

I started tracing and cutting the folder templates in three different papers. Once I had the three folders I figured out the measure for the cover and I cut a piece of paper 12” x 6 ½” to make it. I adhered each folder to the spine and next I put two eyelets in each one, that way they are secure.

Once I had the structure ready with all the folders, it’s time to embellish it. I cut out a few butterflies and adhered stickers word to each folder and the imagination to the cover.

I distressed ink all the borders and cut white papers to make the pages.

I folded the pages and put them through the white jute that knots from the eyelets.

Finally, I gave white paint splatters over the cover.  This is the final result, my daughter loves it! Take a look at the 60 second video down below..I hope you find some inspiration!!
