Craft Room Tour

By Sandi Nagel

"Hello, paper crafting friends! Today I'm sharing a tour of my craft room with you.  I also have a couple of storage ideas that you may enjoy.

I craft out of a small converted laundry room and maximizing my space efficiently is of utmost importance to me.  I hope that I'm able to provide some inspiration and ideas, especially to those of you who work out of a small craft room or craft area.

Upon approaching my craft room, you'll find a tall bookcase by the entrance.  This bookcase stores crafting items that I use less often.  I also keep some journals in this space.

Inside my craft room, you come across another tall bookcase. This one I use to store the crafting items that I use on a regular basis. Because my craft desk is at close proximity to this bookcase, it's very easy for me to grab items as I make my projects.

What you'll notice in my craft room is consistency.  Because it is such a small area, I thought it would be more pleasing to the eye if I kept the storage bins consistent.

I also find that by breaking my crafting supplies into sub-categories, and narrower bins they're much easier to find.

For example, here you see my Graphic 45 Rose Bouquet bin. It's easier to go through one Rose Bouquet bin than to go through a bin that may be categorized as embellishments.  What you'll also notice is that I break down my Graphic 45 tags by color.

On the bottom shelf, I have a crate and plastic bin where I keep my Graphic 45 Papers and boxes.  Keeping these Graphic 45 supplies in these, make it a lot easier for me to go through.  All I do is pull out the crate or bin, get to what I need, and push the bin back in to place.

I also keep my Graphic 45 Brand Ambassador packing lists in my paper bin.  I use the packing slips as a method of inventory control.  I like to mark off the items that I use for a Design Team project as I go along.  This way I keep track of items that I have yet to use on a project.

Regardless of how tiny your craft room space is, it's always a good idea to keep some crafting inspiration nearby.
