#G45Box – Little Love Notes
By Kavitha
“Hello G45 fans!!
Valentine’s day is around the corner, what’s more, beautiful than sharing sweet little notes to your loved ones on this special day, handwritten notes always holds a special place in the heart. I made a small drawer box with mini envelopes and tags inside. I used the gorgeous Love Notes collection for this cute romantic project.
Let’s see how to create the box base. For the drawer take 6*6 inches of black cardstock and score at 1” on all sides
Make a slit on all four sides and cut slightly at an angle for perfect finishing
Apply glue on all four corner flaps and hold it together for a few seconds until it dries
Take 4 by 12” cardstock for the box. The drawer measures 4*4*1 inches, so you need 0.1/16th extra for the drawer to slide in perfectly. Score at 1.1/16, 4.1/16 as shown in the picture and cut off the extra.
Apply glue to both the ends and stick them together
To make the base more sturdy I took two pieces of chipboard measuring 4 ½ * 4 ½ inches and to cover it I took two pieces of pattern paper measuring 5 ½*5 ½ inches
Glue the chipboard to the pattern paper leaving half inches on all sides.
Fold the pattern paper and score it with a bone folder on all sides. Cut all corners little away from the chipboard at an angle.
Apply glue on all sides and stick it to the chipboard.
Glue the box perfectly in the center. First, stick the base and once it dried glue the top layer
Once the base is ready to decorate the box with layers of pattern papers, fussy cut flowers, and chipboard pieces.
I made mini envelopes and tags to hold a few smaller sizes photos and lots of messages
I have used lots of cut a parts from the pattern paper to decorate my tags and envelope.
The envelope holds tiny notes and postage.
Tips: Add layers of scrap chipboard in between layers to give dimensional look
I hope this project will inspire you to make your own little handmade notes for your loved ones this valentines day.
Happy crafting!!”
~Kavi
