DIY Journal with Stamps

Hello, G45ers!

Pull out your stamps and some paper and let's have some fun!  Today, we have a #G45JunkJournal  to close out our August Challenge.  This journal has been created with love by the incredible and talented Brand Ambassador from Singapore, Katie Z.  To create this inspirational journal Katie has used our Imagine collection along with the coordinating Stamps and our Decades Inks.  Be sure to watch the video tour below, and keep scrolling afterward to find out who has won our Weekly Blog Contest!

Stamped Junk Journal

By Katie Z

“Making albums has always been a challenging task for me, and it’s also a task I’ll hesitate and take much longer than usual to complete one album. However, the moment I started to explore on Junk Journals, this makes the album making a not such a daunting task to me.

Thinking I’ll be using this journal for my artistic uses and probably bringing along in my bag, the cover was embellished minimally and as flat as possible while keeping the design dimensions at place.

The Imagine collection also comes with matching acrylic stamps which makes building this journal a much easier and interesting task for me; they practically saves me the hassle to find matching stamps or images to compliment the book.

Tip: Bind and mix some old vintage /magazines/dictionary papers together with pattern papers in between your pages to give some “age” to your journal.

Tip: Adding some laces or ribbons along the spine area will greatly enhance the look of your junk journal, especially for slimmer journals.

Tip: Ribbons are optional, however as you start building up your journal this might be necessary. Choose a contrasting colour to make your book a little more interesting.

Lastly, not forgetting the back… A little embellishing completes the book and this little book is all ready to be used. Perhaps I might want to video how I’d do up a page one day…

Nonetheless, here is a short video glimpse on how the inside of this journal looks like:
