Easy Paper Purses

Tutorial by Karan Gerber

“Hello G45ers, I have seen these gorgeous purses around the internet from years ago and thought they would look great done up in Graphic 45 Love Notes Collection.

#G45Reel

To begin, you will need a 12 x 12 sheet of pattern paper.
  • Score on one end at ½” 5.5”, 7.5” and 11.5”
  • Rotate your paper and score at 3.75 “ and 8.25”
  • Fold on the score lines.
  • Cut into the wide side to the center score line on top and bottom of paper
  • Fold these into the center to create a “box”
  • Fold over the ½” fold at the top, these will give you a very clean edge.
  • You can really decorate these up with flowers and ephemera.

For purse closure:
  • Cut 2.75 x 5.5 inch of black cardstock ( or whatever color will match your paper
  • And cut a 2.5 x 5.25 from pattern paper
  • I did add magnets. One on the inside of the purse which you can cover up with a sticker from the collection pack or a piece of pattern paper., and one on the “outside which will go in between the pattern paper and the cardstock

Purse Handles:
  • Two pieces of cardstock ¾ inch by 11 inches, i added brads to the each end of the handle to add some detail

I attached the handles to the bag with hot glue.

Have fun decorating the bags and I would love to see you take on These would be perfect in Christmas collection papers and used as a mini Christmas Stocking, or even for Easter too. Happy Crafting!

This is the first one I put together. I used some of the new washi tape around the side bands of the purse and on the bottom of the flap.

Here are the three of them I have done, seriously they are a lot of fun to put together.” ~Karan Gerber
