Bird Song Altered Jewelry Box and Necklace

"Hello G45ers, I wanted to share with you all a very simple project I made. This is a jewelry organizer box with a coordinating necklace. The jewelry organizer was actually just altered book box! I was inspired to create both of these projects after seeing the elegance of the amazing G45 Bird Song collection.

With the holiday season quickly approaching, it was definitely time for me to start thinking about gifts that I could easily DIY to give to others. You can also do the same with this project, using supplies from your own craft room!

I altered a book box using papers from the collection and metal hardware. I further customized my box by making divisions with cardstock so that it will serve better as a jewelry organizer.

This project was super simple to do. The beautiful ivory Graphic 45 box is the perfect base to use for this project, and really, for any project. Adding papers and some fussy cut flowers is all that you really need to take it to the next level.

The Bird Song collection has very elegant papers that I wanted to showcase by adding florals to them. If you know me, you will know that I love florals. I love to use them in almost every one of my projects.

After I finished altering my box, I was so inspired that I just had to create a necklace to match the set. I automatically thought that it would make the perfect gift companion to my jewelry box. I just used a charm necklace base that I purchased at my local craft store, and added a circular image (I used a circle punch to cut an image from the collection that I loved) and just attached it with jewelry glue.

I even think the tag from the collection will make a nice addition to my gift, as the gift card!
