Pop-Up Matchbook Box

By Cecilia Zertuche

“Hello G45ers! For July’s project I want to share a video tutorial to teach you how to make this beautiful match box with a great pop up that appears when you open the drawer. It’s a lovely project and easy to make that can be a perfect gift, because you can fill the drawer with some candies, or with a mini album and a gift card, as I did. The gorgeous paper collection I used is Once upon a Springtime DCE that includes stickers and chipboard sheets, fabulous designs!

The materials needed:

Graphic 45 Supplies:

-Graphic 45 Once upon a Springtime DCE

-Graphic 45 Metal handle set

-Graphic 45 Metal charm clips

-Graphic 45 Matte pearl gems

-Graphic 45 Decorative metal clocks

-Graphic 45 Tag, pocket & butterfly dies

-Graphic 45 Policy & decorative dies

Other Supplies:

-2 sheets of cream cardstock

-Aleene’s quick dry tacky glue

-UHU or E6000

-Double sided tape

-2 flat magnets

-Some cream cord

TIP – Sometimes it is better to use magnets when making pop ups, in this case this will stay flat when the drawer is closed.

TIP – Some embellishments are not only beautiful, but they can work as a closure also.

TIP – Shape the leaves and the flowers with your fingers or with tweezers, they become alive and dimensional!” ~Cecilia
